It’s changed so much!
I literally just left a review, but I’ve since been playing Season 5 and it’s awful in comparison to the others. There is nonstop drama, and I know it’s for entertainment purposes, obviously, but there’s so much sketchy stuff happening in this newest season!! You can’t really customize your character like you used to be able to do in earlier seasons. Everything costs an arm and leg!! It’s nearly impossible to just play without the constant pressure to buy gems with real money to wear certain outfits. Another thing, everybody is so mean and two faced on here! Like Suresh is bad enough all on his own, but then all of the other guys are also just really not into your character at all! No matter how you choose to play it!! I’ve tried switching from overly nice and kind and taking a more aggressive approach, no matter how you play it, it’s almost the same kind of results every-time and again, way too much hate, drama, & bullying happening!! Really disappointed as this used to be my favorite game ever! I’ve also been looking forward to the new season so much and have still been giving it a chance, even after I’ve been feeling unhappy with how it’s going. It’s just getting worse and actually stressing me out in real life! It’s supposed to be somewhat of a fantasy or relaxing kind of past time isn’t it, these games? Problematic
Loved Bombshell Season 4, but as I hope the developers and writers have already seen, season 5 is pretty bad. For one, the character is barely customisable in terms of decision making, all of the other characters are awful and the betrayals aren’t movingly terrible- they’re just disappointing. Give a character some depth before it stabs MC in the back. Generally just got a weird anxiety every time I finished an episode- very unpleasant experience.
Also every time I watch ads to get gems- the time increases ridiculously. First it was 2 hours- which jumped to 9 hours which jumped to 18 hours! What the heck? Are you that desperate for people to spend money on your game? In that case- make your storylines and characters worth spending money on.Show lessRosalind. M
So expensive
I downloaded this thinking it was the same as the original love island games but that was changed to love villa. I bought the starter pack which was great for getting a few more tickets and gems but doesn’t last long. Choices cost 17gems, outfits & some hairstyles 15-23gems. I don’t mind paying in games when it is reasonable but some choices made no difference in the game. At fist you could watch an ad for 1 gem but that gone you also got a gem at the end of each episode not anymore. The packs you can buy aren’t worth the money. As the MC it feels like you get no choice when comes to who you want to be with. Plus on several occasions the chats in the villa were boring and games uninteresting so far. An episode goes by with nothing happening such a waste when have to wait 2hrs for a ticket. Nothing like the original games which I have played all of. This is seriously lacking. SCAM
Seriously, you’re going to write in the game this gross pressure to buy outfits and private chats but force us to spend our hard earned money on this game. It’s like if I don’t spend money, my choices are made up for me. You have to spend money to change the outcome and that would be okay if there were other ways to get the coins. Like watch ads or quests like Bombshell had for Ex on the Beach. I used to enjoy this game and now I close the app halfway through a chapter because it’s annoying, I don’t want the MC to end up with either of the guys she’s being forced to chat with, I just feel like this entire game is a scam to get us to spend our money to make a difference in the outcome.
And let’s circle back to the gross pressure to buy stuff. It’s not just one time asking. I’m being asked 3 times now “are you sure you don’t want this outfit? Yours is…. Boring” “you just won’t stand out! You’ll be outshined by me” gross. Stop. We’re not doing this.
Let my choices make a difference, stop desperately begging me to spend money, give us chances to earn coins and stop with the disgusting display of “peer pressure” to buy stuff. Just let people enjoy the game even if they can’t afford to shell out money for itShow lessWhosyourmaddie
S5 is awful
As someone who has been playing every season live since S1, I can definitively say that S5 is absolutely the worst season of Love Island The Game - it is genuinely baffling to me how far the quality has dropped. The characters are one dimensional, not swayed by your choices, and even the player character feels flat compared to other seasons. So much is behind a paywall that I feel I’m barely playing the game, but there aren’t ways to earn enough diamonds to fully participate without paying money. One scene I did pay diamonds for was not only super short but also didn’t have any effect on the game and how a character treated me, making it feel worthless. Not only that, but I’ve seen multiple typos in various dialogue or descriptions which only further reinforces my view that this season was created with a very tight deadline and quick turnaround that didn’t allow for the same quality of storytelling as previous seasons. I was already not a fan of the new app but willing to go along for the ride last season because there were fuller characters to pursue and more achievements that awarded diamonds, but this whole season feels slapdash and honestly almost insulting. I really hope Fusebox is able to come back from this but honestly after this season my hopes are not high at all.Show lessemme158

Please please please read and believe the negative reviews for this game. How are you going to create a game like this where our choices are supposed to matter but they actually don’t matter? There are characters in this game, Will for example, who no matter how well things are going or what choices you make, they end up never being an option to end the game with. It’s almost as if the game is trying to force you to be with one specific character. I don’t know if the writers ran out of story lines for the characters, but I was so extremely dissatisfied. I spent money on this game to ensure I got who I wanted as endgame (as you can in the previous love island) and they screwed me over. Seriously, do not play this. You’ll waste your time and money. Amazing!
I enjoy that this game doesn’t exactly take it far with the sexual stuff as that can get nasty for some and it just allows slightly younger (Like 15-16 y/o ppl) to download the game and play how they want. The only things I find a bit disappointing is that this game is a bit money oriented and that it takes SO long to get another VIP ticket. You get only 1 diamond unless you watch an ad, which makes it so agonizingly long to get anything you want to impress your love interest. When you use up all your VIP tickets, it takes 2 hours to get more tickets, which it’s understandable since this game is free on the App Store, but 2 hours is a bit too long. This was my first time ever playing this game, loved it bombshell was amazing I was addicted to it ex is the villa was kinda boring but only because the character designed wasn’t like bombshell so I stopped playing ex in the villa and finished bombshell I was really sad when it came to an end I feel like it would have been a lot better if we could see like you and your partner in the future like at the when of the game your talking about wanting kids and or pets with your partner it would have been cool to see in the future with you in you partner playing with the kids in the yard, I would have loved to see Tom with our dog and cats, overall this game was amazing.Show lessoffialxnevaehoofer
Entertaining and awesome (my honest review)
I’ve been playing the love island series since season 1 on the previous app. And here is my honest opinion currently today! (2023). I was not the biggest fan of season 4, seems like things were missing. For example, how Will completely forgets about you (when you coupled up with him in the beginning) and doesn’t acknowledge that that has happened. Feels like there were disconnects between other characters and yours. So I stopped playing season 4 around episode 29 and tried “Ex in the villa” (season 5)…when I tell you this is so good, I mean it! The drama, the way the characters remember things…it reminded me of season 1 and 2. I felt like there was definitely a lot of care taken in “Ex in the Villa” and I appreciate that so much! Makes me want to replay it again. Very entertaining, stressful and hilarious. I think my only critique about season 5 is how the MC looks, limited colors in lipstick (don’t look good on brown skin) and how the MC overall looked. She looks like the least attractive one, there is limited facial options for lips, head shape and nose. The MC facial and body options overall is just not good compared to how great everyone else looked. But other than that, 8/10⭐️Show lessSBluna
Mixed feelings
Honestly really love the bombshell season, it felt like all the other previous seasons made. But the ex in the villa season really fell off for me, it’s very restrictive and no matter what choices i made it barely impacted the story, I wanted to pursue a storyline with Eddie but no amount of gems that gave romantic scenes actually impacted the main plotline, it was like there was no relationship between the mc and Eddie despite him constantly stating he was into the mc.
