A good idea, but not accurate at all
Ok I love earth and I truly support this idea, however, the questionnaire consists of only 6 very generic questions. To truly get a picture of one’s carbon footprint, the app should ask if you compost, grow your own food, take other drawdown measures, more detailed shopping and travel habits, if you work at home or in an office (yeah my house is big because people work here, but the size of my house dinged me pretty big), do you work on a computer or with machines (e.g. agriculture or office work) or do you work as a yoga instructor? Do you buy local food? Do you buy and eat whole foods or packaged foods, etc. etc. The fact that I was unable to enter the fact that I plant around 180,000 trees a year or that for July and August my total household grocery bill is only $200 because I am growing all my own food means the calculation can never be accurate.
Maybe the developers would consider a basic and in-depth version of the questionnaire.Show lessDani Vachon

Hi Dani. Thank you so much for your feedback. All of what you say makes sense. Klima is a rather young company and for the first version of our carbon calculator we tried to strike the right balance between complexity and accuracy. The 10 questions we're asking have the biggest impact on one's carbon footprint. That being said we are already working on a pro mode with much more detail as we speak. If everyone decided to use this app and become carbon neutral the world would be a much better place, the charge is very reasonable, the app is easy to use and great design, and I love the how they communicate what you’ve achieved and the ideas they have for the future. Really insightful and cost me so little to offset my footprint!
Really insightful. Even for those that don’t choose to pay to offset their own footprint (which I can happily say I have done) it’s a great educational tool to inform you of where you can make the most impactful change!fhacking
Empowering & Informative
A truly incredible app, Klima.
The way it’s so quick and easy to do is something that hasn’t quite sunk in yet, the fact that within a few minutes I went from doing very little, to completely offsetting my carbon footprint 👣 is quite something to experience.
Some ideas/suggestions I have;
• I would love to see the ability to track others’ progress (like my friends and family)
• Somewhat tying in with the above, I’d like to see a breakdown of not just my impact, but also how much Klima user’s have done all across the world. (This may already be done so if so my apologies, I haven’t been using the app for too long just yet! 😋)
• It would be especially exciting to have a gifting option as I have some family & friends who would love this, and feel a gift for “x” amount of month(s) would be a fantastic way to introduce them to Klima, and subsequently take a huge leap forward in protecting our environment.

Simple and well thought out
Really like that people behind this app have done the return on investment well enough to plan out that 20% marketing spend will have a bigger impact than passing 100% through for projects. My aim is to try and help as much as possible so encouraging to see the work being done properly.
It could be improved with an option to more accurately estimate your carbon footprint as process is quite rudimentary. Equally was easy to do while sat on a train so can see how there is a balance.
