Leave a Review HomeRun 2 for HomeKit
A home run for HomeRun
Brilliant app for controlling your HomeKit Home. Super functionality in the iPhone app is complemented by the excellent Apple Watch app. This is a great app for people who love HomeKit, really well designed and executed, and it’s great value too.Sorry but it needs a lot of polishing.
Full of bugs
Can’t even add 2nd item in the first grid (already subscribed)
Buttons are non-responsive (cancel and save buttons)
1st version is way more functional and bugs free compared to 2nd versionDeveloper Response
Hi, Could you please reach out to me via the in-app support? I cannot aid you via reviews. These sound like bugs but I need more information to look into them. - AaronNot so Dead
After the developer reached out, I was able to get past the get started screen. But I still encountered a number of bugs in the app. Simple things, like button responses not registering (the save button didn’t do anything). Honestly, I just deleted the app. Sorry dev, but I can’t deal with this kind of thing.
Original review: Dead on Arrival. Can’t get passed the “get started” button after granting home data access. Not really off to a good start.Show lessDeveloper Response
Hi, This is a bug with HomeKit permissions. Please go into settings of your device, and toggle HomeKit access to On for HomeRun. This should fix it. If not, please reach out via in-app support so that I can help you further! - AaronAm I missing something?
It appears that you cannot control any devices with this app, only trigger scenes. Who has that many scenes? Am I supposed to create a scene for every device? Am I supposed to make two if I want to turn it on and then off again? I must be missing something, otherwise this app has no purpose and is certainly not worth a yearly subscription.Show lessDeveloper Response
Hi, Currently HomeRun does only support scene control as per the app description . Scenes suit the quick interaction pattern that HomeRun is designed to offer with grids, complications and widgets. Fiddling with sliders and different actions doesn’t suit this pattern well. However, on my public roadmap that is linked in the app settings, I list off direct device control and creation of device toggles as something I am looking to support soon. It requires a level of attention to do right that I want to take rather than rush into. Feel free to reach out to me via the in app support and I’d be more than happy to hear your suggestions on what HomeRun is currently lacking for your needs. - AaronRipoff of homewidget
Ripoff of homewidgetDeveloper Response
Hi, HomeRun predates HomeWidget by nearly 3 years. HomeRun 1 launched in November of 2018. HomeWidget launched in 2021. HomeRun 2 has been in development since July last year long before HomeWidget existed. This is not a rip off at all, the apps do not look similar in any way nor at the functions actually the same. Please consider updating your review to be correct. Thanks, AaronEasily the most convenient control for your home
HomeRun is easily the most convenient control for your home, with highly customizable complications, Widgets, and more. Aaron’s apps contribute a ton to the HomeKit ecosystem, and this is a must-subscribe for anyone with more than two bulbs!A must have for HomeKit users
This app is great. You can try it for free, so you can set it up and see if it works for you before you pay the fee. Did for me, so gladly paid.Quality app
Just like the rest of his apps, HomeRun 2 is thoughtfully designed and fills a gap that was overlooked by Apple. Keep up the good work! Can’t get past the opening screen
Pressing the “Get Started” button does nothing.Developer Response
