  • Don’t believe the estimate!

    The app worked very well, except for the estimate. My ride from Union Station to Mt. Pleasant was estimated @ $10-12 for up to 4 passengers, the final charge with tip was $23 for 2 passengers, including automatic tip. This is nothing like Uber in that regard. Unless Yellow Cab fixes the price, I’ll stick with Uber.
  • Horrific service due to zero communication skills

    The app experience that I was so happy to use, quickly became my worst nightmare on NYE as this company canceled my ride home, without any call, left me stranded in DC. Do not ever use this service.
  • Functional but very inaccurate

    The Yellow Cab worked well for requesting a taxi and making payment )including a tip. However, it was way off the mark in terms of the time estimate for the taxi’s arrival (over 10 minutes vs the stated 3 minutes) and also over 50% off on the estimated fare.
  • Total Scam!

    The fare shown on the app is an estimate and doesn’t include the automatic fees of $5.50 plus cost of each passenger. Also includes an automatic tip of 15% unless you change it before the ride ends. Once the ride ends you can’t change the tip and it’s automatically charged. I’m working with my credit card company to challenge this blatant fraud. The end cost was the same as Lyft and Uber but much more shady. DC taxis continue to be the same corrupt scam they’ve always been. Will never use again.

    The app quote and what you are charged have a huge discrepancy. This app is a straight con job. Save yourself grief. We were quoted $22 and were charged $35. Bogus.

    This app is not working at all on me or my coworkers phones. Very inconvenient and annoying. Not sure how it has 5 star ratings
  • Generally Very Good

    Much improved over previous versions. Generally easy to use. Areas for improvement:
    1) The “Later” button (to book a future ride) is too small and too close to the “Book Now” button. It’s too easy to accidentally hit “Book Now “
    2) When you do hit “Book Now” there is no second chance; no option to confirm or cancel.
    3) The confirmation text and “Your Rides Scheduled” are very good. Better if they also included type of vehicle (eg Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle).
    4) “Your Rides Scheduled” shows the destination address. Better to show the pick up address.
