So simple

I’m impressed how easy it was to set up GU app on my phone and submit my first claim.

Misleading claims information

I Jan 2024 I reviewed pharmacy coverage reminding under Amber’s profile prior to deciding on whether I would obtain a script for an expensive treatment. At that time the app showed funds for Phamacy were still available and based on this I decided to obtain a course, however it wasn’t until after my claim submission did GU advise via email I had previously reached the threshold and no amount will be paid out. If this was clear from the outset I definitely would not have proceeded with this as I cannot afford this outlay of funds 100% out of pocket.

In addition, the claims page on the app shows the Jan claim as PAID with a green tick ✅ which again is again misleading because no amount was actually paid out.

Transparency/reliability from GU with their clients is fundamental for them/me to have confidence and trust in your product.

I have to say, I feel let down by GU and would not recommend the fund to friends and family.

Buggy

Claims tab always takes too long to load. No history or status of submitted claims, so no idea if they’ve received them or processing etc. rewards page may as well not exist.

Benefits levels showing are good, but a lot of improvements needed

Lacks transparency

The app should allow the user the ability to view previously scanned documents which were related to a claim. It is also difficult to correlate a rejected claim to a scanned receipt.

Reward function doesn’t work

The reward function always doesn’t work. I had to delete and reinstall the app each time I need to use it.

Totally unsatisfactory

Grand United Health has created the most complicated and difficult way of submitting claims online by having some claims able to be submitted on the computer but hospital claims only on a phone!
Why can’t all claims be submitted on the one device? A computer.
I doubt many older clients would cope without help.
I’m sure there is an easier way.
Change is needed and the customer support has been saying “The issue is being worked on” For more than a year!

Don’t bother with this insurer!

The process to take out a policy is easy enough through your company but if you want to cancel then it can take forever to get this processed.

Called and emailed multiple times to have policy cancelled as I have left the company that I worked for. GU Health are still charging me and are refusing to cancel the policy.

If I where you I would take out a policy with another provide but steer clear of GU Health and the parent company NIB as they don’t care about the customer.

Cant click using iphone on discount rewards

so i tried to shop for some shoes on the links for the rewards using an iphone. But you cant click anything in the top corners. So i cant click the basket to check out. My phone is up to date, and also the app doesnt work with a couple of other shops not just newbalance. Its a bit of a shame because the app good for claims.

Switching accounts does not work

Switching accounts does not swap when going back to home account or submitting a claim etc. Changing details blocks because of mobile without suggesting why. Claims only seem to show paid ones not under review
