  • Excellent, simple app that delivers what it promises.

The UI is focused on just what I want, a map with sensor data. A search bar would be helpful, but I can't seem to find it (at least on the macOS variant.)

Thanks, Kyle, for you work you spent developing this and for generously offering it for free!
  • Helpful

Does what is necessary, but would be nice to have some trend information as well. I have been getting “purple air rate limited” which suggests that the dev needs to work out a solution with purple air. Or explain whether the limit is on the app or on my account. If it is refreshing too frequently then the refresh rate should be set accordingly to avoid the limit.

Both these issues should be fixed in the latest update!
  • Love the widget and up-to-the-minute data

Love using widget to show up-to-date readings from one sensor. With other apps the readings seem to be hours old. Two feature requests: be able to show PM2.5 or PM10 instead of only AQI; be able to select own PurpleAir sensor on local network.
  • Useful app and responsive developer

I had a problem with the app the first time I installed it. Contacted the developer and got an update that resolved the problem.

Then I had a bogus sensor near me, so the widget wasn’t showing helpful info. Again the developer released another update that added an option to hide specific sensors.

I can now see at a glance just how bad the air quality is near me. 😂😭😷 Stay safe and healthy, everyone!

Thanks for your feedback - I’m sorry I missed your support request! The latest update (1.1.0) should fix some issues with the widget not loading. If you’re still having issues, please make sure you’re not on a VPN and your location permissions are set to “always”.
  • Perfect app!

UPDATE: this seems to have been fixed. Great app!

Most of the time, the widget just shows an error. If I click on the widget, sometimes it will open into the app, then load and update, but the idea of using it as a “quick glance to see the AQI” is not achievable.
  • Good start, hoping for more

Areas I’d like to see improvement:
    - Ability to choose a sensor and stay with that sensor. I own a PA sensor and only want to see data from that sensor. I don’t want to see data from other sensors as I move locations.
    - Get rid of the AQandU filter. I don’t like that filter nor trust the data it produces. If this app is going to force the use of a filter, it should be the EPA filter, not the AQandU filter.
    - Provide time-based averages. Seeing the current AQI is only a small part of the picture. Gaining an understanding of how the AQI value is trending is immensely valuable and often times more valuable than the current reading.

Thank you so much for your feedback! I’ve been heads down on getting map support out, but you can also turn off the AQAndU conversion in 1.1.0. All the other asks are on the roadmap too. Enjoy! Update: with 1.2.0 you can now choose a specific sensor for the widgets!
