Wonderful way to get the live theater experience at home
I am in the US, and would probably never get the chance to actually see a show at the National Theater, despite being a fan for many years. This digital feature has finally made ground-breaking professional theater accessible to me. I get to have a live theatrical experience right from my couch. After 11 years of NT Live, it’s great to have the long-awaited ability to view these great plays and performances again.
Only about a dozen are available to view at launch... but what a selection! Helen Mirren and Dominic Cooper’s Phedre, Billie Piper’s Yerma, Tom Hiddleston and Mark Gatiss’s Coriolanus, Olivias Colman and Williams in Mosquitoes and the amazing Lucian Msamati and Adam Gillen’s Amadeus.
The app is a great start - clear, easy to use and intuitive, but what’s needed is something for smart TVs so these HD recordings can be easily viewed on the screen size they deserved.Show lessdavidb51
