Scaniverse was a great 5 stars 3D scaring app. Shamefully it stopped working. Please fix it.

Cool app but…
Is this just gonna be another app that eventually steals all your data? It does a great job but I don’t feel okay about using it anymore. Nothings free really.
Bad Mesh, Good Spats
I really hate that the mesh isn’t crisp and the floor/surface below it kind of like mushes up to the object and connects to the object your scanning and it is then a piece of junk and you have to try over and over again and it still won’t work, again because the surface is merging to the object. The splatting is good but who really uses splats? Like it can’t 3d print and it is blobs of just colour like who likes that but it is so much better looking.

Later edit: I still need the raw data. The raw data is my property regardless that this is a free app.
I scan natural features and the scans aren’t necessarily as good as the real thing hence I need to make a further curation of the data inside nerf studio or a comparable app. Some features are better off flattened, like distant but necessary details in order to have a composition without holes hence , again, curating the raw data is necessary.

Best 3D scanner
This is THE best 3D scanner I’ve used, & I’ve used quite a few. Very usable interface, very fast processing, excellent results, great quality, all in all a fantastic scanner, that I can’t recommend enough. 10/10.
Blown away. Better than the paid apps.
First off I’ve tried a lot of photogrammetry and Gaussian splatter apps. Most of them are limited in functionality are require subscriptions. Also results are mixed. When I saw this app was free I didn’t not expect this level of quality and options. Truely blown away.
No taking hundreds of photos, with this you just scan/move in real time (even without a lidar). The feedback you get while scanning is so helpful for seeing where more detail is needed. Multiple processing options for photogrammetry and additional training enhancement time for splats make this the most user friendly and high quality app I’ve found so far. I don’t understand why other apps are so unintuitive, clunky and limited.
Add to that it does all of its training/processing locally on your own device so internet connection is not needed. 👏 finally someone made a truely great scanning app for enthusiasts instead of just trying to milk the AppStore for microtransactions. 10/10

Doesn’t work
Speed processing creates a mess and fast processing always generates a processing error.
Wonderful!
This app is very fun and useful, I first heard of it during a conference. It was being used to make interactive databases for museum artifacts so people could move the artifacts around and look at them without risking too much exposure. It takes a bit to make a super great model but it is worth the time. The splat AI mode yields great results. It is a wonderful use of the lidar on phones that I didn’t even know I had.
