wish i could give this 100 stars

I absolute ADORE the nobs app. I finished the 12-week senior home guide a couple weeks ago and started it over immediately. I love that the app doesn’t have a focus on calories or working yourself to exhaustion or how heavy a weight you’re lifting. It’s the perfect neutral movement app. I’m recovering from anorexia and this is the only movement I have opted to do in my recovery aside from walking simply because it’s so empowering and body neutral. I never finish a workout feeling badly about myself. There’s no comparison, no one yelling at you to push harder, no meal plan you’re supposed to follow as part of the program. Lucy is a rockstar for creating such an inclusive, helpful, empowering program! If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would.

The best!!

I’ve been using Lucy’s guides since before the app came out (and the app ever since) and it’s a staple in my routine. I love how easy it is to use, that you can switch exercises out for similar ones, the detailed instructions and videos, etc etc etc. The freedom from calorie counting and body altering language on a workout app is so refreshing. It’s helped me heal my relationship with exercise and made workouts super fun!

Love the app, but glitches

I have problems with the app crashing if I go to another app during my workout. When I go back, it relaunches again and I have to go back to the workout. Would love if this was fixed. Would love if the rep count stayed on what you set it from the first rep. If the exercise says 3x8 and I do 3x12, I hate scrolling each time. I also wish we could add notes on each workout where the version history is. But I love nobs app. It makes working out so easy. If you’re debating it, download it!!!

Small quality of life updates

Firstly, this app is great. The workouts make sense, are approachable and keep the gym interesting. The video AND text explanations are very clearly thought out. That said:

1) it is annoying having to select LBs every time when tracking as an American, would be great to set it once in the app and forget about it.

2) I wish I knew why the rep count changes as the program progresses. Should I be starting with as heavy as I can? Should I be doing drop sets? I recognize the programs are built with an algorithm, but it would be nice to get some of that color at the start/middle of the program to build my own knowledge.

I do not use the recipes/affirmations etc so this review does not include those. Love Lucy and the Nobs team, this has truly made me re fall in love with weight training!

Great app but UI issues

I’m really liking the app and I think it will really help me back into a healthier lifestyle.

The main issue is it doesn’t work well in a small phone at all. I have an iPhone SE and a lot of the screens end up all muddled with information overlapping. During the workouts, I can see the full exercise video. During the circuit, I can’t see them at all.

I can chose how to track - weight or body weight- because the information is overlapping and I can’t click either.

This app changed my life

I am no longer scared of the gym!! I am one of those people who just finds the gym a bit boring and overwhelming when I’m on my own, there’s only so many instagram posts I can save for workout ideas and I feel so uninspired… having NOBS gives me structure and confidence. Love it!!

Couldn’t recommend more!!

I’ve been a nobs subscriber for over 5 years now and I couldn’t recommend it more!
The workouts and videos Lucy has created are perfect for first timers and those who need a refresher or just want some reassurance.
Following the plan makes going to the gym so much easier and less dawnting!
The tracking aspect also adds accountability and a sense of achievement ✨

Still glitchy; love when it works

Love the concept of the app but the glitches just really detract from the experience. Was hoping this go around would
Be better. But not seeing that just yet.

The best app

Everything from the option to choose how many workouts per week, to tracking progress in weights for machine/free weights instead of body weight change, to the celebratory page at the end of each workout.. this app is just the best and nobody can convince me otherwise.

I’ve never enjoyed the gym previously, only ever signing up when I thought I needed to lose weight but now I look forward to seeing the improvement in my strength and fitness.

The thing that finally got me comfortable in the gym

I thought I’d never earn to use the gym because no one would show me in a kind, unpatronising way. Thank god for this app, it makes me so happy and strong and no diet culture!!!!
Ps love the adjustments like how it’s easier to switch exercises if the gym is busy or you want a different / easier / harder to exercise. Thank you a million times !!!
