  • Camera connect

I love the great connection! I have no issues with my camera connecting to the app.
I would however, like to see a sounds or light flashing when picture is about to take or when it’s already taken.
Sounds n lights would provide room for more creative pics.
That’s about the only input. Aside from that the connection n app is great!

Thank you for the kind words and feedback! You can already enable countdown and capture sounds in the "Intervalomter" mode! If you don't need to capture multiple photos, you can set the photo count limit to 1. Hopefully this workaround makes for a better experience. If you have any additional questions, we are always happy to help at help@shutter.dev
  • What Canon Connect should have been

I often prefer to use an iPad to the touchscreen on my EOS RP, especially to show other people what the camera is seeing, such as during the solar eclipse. I also wanted to use the intervalometer to record an image every minute, but that functionality is disabled on the camera while connected to wi-fi, and Connect does not have that feature. So I can view on an iPad, or use the intervalometer, but not both.

Shutter does have this functionality, as well as the standard shutter, aperture, etc controls.

Also, my model allows a bulb timer, but only for one shot. So I can take one image of 60 seconds, for instance, but the intervalometer function is then disabled. I can’t take a series of images longer than 30 seconds.

Shutter also resolves this, allowing me to take any number of long exposures.

  • Great app

I had a few issues with this app after downloading. The developers went above and beyond to resolve the issues and make it work Has been doing a great job so far!
  • Satisfied

I’m very pleased with the Shutter App, I had the Canon Connect for my 80d but this app with my 90d is perfect.
  • Unbelievable. Forces you to signup for paid timed trial.

I’m pretty sure Apple doesn’t allow apps to present themselves as “free” when they force you to choose from one of 3 different paid plans, even if they give you a few “free” days to use the software before being billed. Reporting.

    Developer Response

This is how App Store works. The app is marked as "free + in-app purchases" and we make it very clear in the description that this is a paid app.
  • Excellent Solution

Seamless system to use ur mobile phone as a monitoring system and remote for ur camera. I love it. Definitely worth the subscription amount.
  • Bad business

This app is an ad, but they have designed it to trick you into thinking it’s a Canon app.

    Developer Response

Hi, we've never pretended to be the official Canon app. Shutter is a tool made by a fellow photographer who wanted to add some missing features to his Canon camera. If you don't enjoy the app, please email us at help@shutter.dev and we will help with a refund.
  • Doesn’t work

I cannot get it to connect on my 250D, uninstalled

    Developer Response

Hi, apologies for the trouble. Could you please email help@shutter.dev (or tap "Email support" in the "Support" section of the app)? We would love to help!
  • A tad slow

It takes a couple seconds for things to move around on the display, maybe it’s just the camera model I have connected to this app but it’s really delayed and jittery when trying to see what your lens views.
  • Why would anyone pay subscription for this?

This app only provides a minor increase in connivence from triggering the shutter on your phone through the official Camera Connect app. Why would anyone pay a subscription just to do the same thing with their watch?

    Developer Response

Shutter offers more than just the Watch app: it will keep the connection even when you lock the screen, offers a convenient way to set up an intervalometer (or continuous shooting) for group or travel photos (we use it all the time when travelling in remote locations) or exposure bracketing. If you are not satisfied with the app, please email us at help@shutter.dev and we will help with a refund.
