I joined the app yesterday and signed up for family cover…..visited the dentist today to fix a tooth ache (had to remove my tooth), payed for my tooth extraction and appointment using my smile membership and it saved me $70…..it’s virtually paid for itself in my first visit! I Have multiple appointments lined up in the coming months so I’m going to save a fair bit of money in the near future, and that’s not including my wife and kids who are also part of the family membership and will also be visiting the dentist multiple times this year! I joined this membership as I am no longer able to afford private health dental cover. Really was a fantastic saving for an emergency repair absolutely necessary to damage to orthodontic wire and I intend on using further for regular check up and clean. Really easy to use app. For bills that don’t auto scan, the team get back to you really quickly with a breakdown of where you save on each visit. Much cheaper than full on private health insurance and in 3 years we’ve had nothing but good experiences.Ixionx

I discovered this product online, dental specific insurance. Used to have extras cover with hospital cover, but only ever used the dental and optometrist, all the other services I was paying for never used. Ditched the extras cover, and now pay a fraction of what I was paying previously.Handsome 1968

This app really helps if you need any dental work done or something like am emergency extraction where it can usually cost $450 for a tooth and let’s be honest no one has a spare $450 they want to spend on a single tooth. With this card it knocks the price down where in some instances and select dentists you’ll be discounted so much you’ll be lucky to fork up $100 for an extraction.Show lessKjace98

App is slow and freezes when you navigate the app. You have to close the app a few times as it will freeze. Some rewards are actually a hassle and will take for than 2 months waiting period with too many steps to do, it’s not straight forward and user friendly. I gave them a 5 Star product review last 2 months with the hope of getting a discounts before the renewal but until now I haven’t had that discounts rewards yet and it just renews automatically with the full price…..very cheeky! Just be aware.
Dentist also have different price list if you’re a smile member. I thought it would be cheaper to use both my private insurance plus this membership but actually it’s not. So I’ve always asked my dentist which is the cheaper option, both (smile + private insurance), smile alone or private insurance alone. Most of them are honest enough to gave me the breakdown of every cost and 99% of the time using my private insurance alone is more cheaper than using both or using smile membership…making it really a useless cost.
It would have been perfect if the accredited dentist won’t jack up their prices so we can avail a double dip discounts but unfortunately it’s not like that as what I believed initially. Just confirmed it with you dentist. It’s just another cost with little or no benefit at all.Show lessCylux88

At first I was thinking this is a gimmick after reading some reviews. I compared an invoice without cover to an invoice for the exact same line item and I definitely made savings that outweigh the cost of the cover. I recommend this cover and the app is easy to use.M3L2023

We got family cover and even though we have private health it was well worth getting for some of the major teeth work that was needed. Dropped the price of crowns and root canals so much that we would not go without it ever again.Kristy 43
