  • This game saved my life

I was in a dark place. I was considering ending it. Dark thoughts clouded my head and shrouded my vision… until I found this game. Suddenly, I started feeling happier. I started feeling like my life actually meant something. Pocket Chess was what I needed, and I don’t know what my life would be without it. I haven’t gotten one question wrong, and if do I’ll prob kill myslef

  • Great

Great game you get exactly what it looks like, the ads are non intrusive and it’s incredibly user friendly, it’s a free game, no complaints
  • Some of the situations are wrong, I.e. checkmate is not checkmate

Some of the puzzles don’t actually have a solution in the number of moves indicated. These just don’t work in the number of moves. But, when you use (waste) hints, it declares a checkmate when the attacking piece can actually be taken by a defending piece. So, these are totally wrong and the only way to get past them is to WASTE hints.

  • Good game but problems

I been playing this when constantly reached to over 500 levels but today I went in the app all of my data and level progression erased and I’m back at level 1 I hope this bug gets fixed soon cause it demotivating to see how much time I put in to be gone and I honestly love this game but due to this performance I have to give a lower rating

  • Fun game, good concept, but

I downloaded this game not too long ago and ive had a lot of fun i love the concept of having a game like this for free, but, there is one thing in particular about this game that really bugs me, the ads, the amount of ads on this is just ridiculous, especially if you get a level that you complete fast, i mean you get ads after basically every single level and it is very frustrating. i kind of understand why there would be maybe an ad after every level considering that some levels may take a while to complete, which would make sense to make an ad afterwards to make up for the playing time of said level, but i just dont think its necessary. and i also think coins should be able to actually purchase things in game like different boards, backgrounds, pieces, etc. instead of just hints.

  • Great aesthetic, Terrible money grabbing

Look, I get it, ads are a core part of the game’s monetization. I get it, buying hints with the coin system is what makes money. But an ad every one or two puzzles? That’s just insane greediness. It takes me longer to watch an ad than to do a puzzle. You’re basically turning me into an ad-watching machine, and I do enough of that everywhere else, so respectfully, I’m uninstalling this piece of crap. Sure, the aesthetic is extremely well-polished, but the level of money grabbing and scammy tactics instantly makes me lose faith in the developer.

  • My skill is improving

With this apps help I might finally be able to beat my stepdad
  • Brilliant app

Superb game for beginner chess players. From the minute you download you can play. It’s so simple, there’s no silly paying to change background colour or anything like that.
  • Ads

Ads after 3 levels so dont play unless you’re willing to pay to remove or to sit through them
  • Good game, but long, nonstop ads

I get that the developer deserves compensation, but the ad practice here is one of the most egregious I’ve seen.

Unskippable, minute long ads between rounds that can less 10 seconds. Every time.

They don’t care though. They’ll make money on every ad OR you’ll get annoyed enough and pay for ad-free. Again, I get it, but it doesn’t make it any less scummy.
