Stranded

Avoid this company at all costs. Charge not working. Customer service was a rollover service that submits a form on your behalf so the company can call you back at a later date. I'm stranded in a parking lot in upstate NY completely screwed and wishing I chose the death of the environment over this nonsense.

Easy Sign Up

I just downloaded and used this app for a fast charge in Brattleboro VT, and it worked well. Above average sign up experience, and I was happy to know that I did nor need to pre-pay before charging. In-app FAQ is very clear. Good work developers!

Terrible Customer Service + Not Intuitive Charge Cord

10min stuck in the app for a station to finally “timeout” and let me change my location. Customer Service didn’t answer in that entire timeframe. AND I had to pull decently hard, much harder than I’d expect as a Fit 44 year old male, to get the power cord to extend far enough to actually connect to my vehicle.

Slithery little snake

I like when I push the button and the cord comes out like a snake. A slithery little snake.

Not as easy as ChargePoint stations.

It is a bit of a hassle to:
1) open the app
2) plug in the car
3) find the station site
4) select the charging station
5) wait for the charge to begin

This all takes about 1-2 minutes if the app correctly located the station. The app just said I was almost a mile away from the station I used.

A ChargePoint station allows you to:
1) remotely connect your phone to unlock the charging station.
2) plug-in and charge the car.

The ChargePoint system takes about 10-15 seconds.

If I were installing stations at my business I would not use the Livingston Charge system unless they offer a remote connect option like ChargePoint. The Livingston system feels clunky, slow, and just leaves the user feeling a bit frustrated to have to go through all the steps.

I could give the system a few more stars, because it does do the job to charge the car. But in this day and age, these systems should be operating in a streamlined fashion to seamlessly connect with our phones.

The Livingston system just feels like a system being adopted by a second rate operator or something out of the Dilbert cartoon where more bureaucratic steps are put in place to slow down a process that should be so simple.

Make sure the Apple wallet does not pop up

If you are using the app, make sure your phone is far enough away from the kiosk that the Apple wallet does not come up otherwise it will not start a charge as you need to pay through the app.

Livingston Oelwein Library

Used successfully, needed to download the app and start acct. Charging was free, but need to start from the app.

App is kinda klunky

I’m a new user of this charging service. The app installed easily and I setup my account with no problems. Today I connected to the charging station and entered the app to begin charging. I got to the point of selecting the charging unit to which I am connected but then couldn’t figure out how to proceed. I called tech support and was on hold for 10 minutes before being switched to voicemail where I left a message. All the while I was fiddling with the app and eventually pressed the magic button and got the charger switched on. I’m not certain just what I did to accomplish that. There needs to be an instruction how to proceed after selecting the appropriate charging device.
So I got a message that charging is in progress. Hope all continues well from here!

Convenient

Not super fast, but once you have the app it’s easy and since I’m stopped for the night it ok if it takes awhile to charge.

Frustrating

The keyboard covers the button when you enter your credit card and it’s almost impossible to get to the next screen. Just let us use a credit card instead of making us download an app so you can harvest my data
