Difficult

Making a transition to this from previous portal to pay our rent was a nightmare and it cause us to pay a late fee because it take days fir bank verification 3-5 and than it wasn’t verified… so we ended up having to pay with debit card in which they charged us 4.95 to do on top of late fees

Not user friendly

This app no longer saves passwords or uses faceID. I have to input my user name and password every time I log on. The option to upload pics doesn’t work. Entirely too many steps to put in a maintenance request. A one time passcode to verify an account I already verified when I logged on. I’m in my actual account but now I have to verify again as if this is a secure money transaction. It’s a maintenance request for Pete’s sake! So many other issues I don’t have time to list.

Poor Performance & Customer Service

Provides very basic information & Vinebrook does NOT care about making it easy to get them their payment. They have an option for a “custom amount” but then it will say you can only pay the balance in full. The customer service answer system representatives know nothing and will collect your information for a call back that you may or may not receive in 7 business years! Either that or an email brushing off your call with the same generic message each time.

Bad Update

You took away the “Verification” feature that was at the bottom of the log in and now I can’t get into my account. It gave me issues before with my email, it said I have a previous account with a RentCafe but when I click forgot password it says “if you have an account with this email, we will send you a link” - well it literally just told me I had an account with this email and it won’t let me register it, I’ve tried a second email address as well and it says the same thing, yet I receive no email to change my password.
I just need to pay my rent!

Customer service/payments

The leasing agent lost part of my deposit and I was required to pay it back instead of the company taking care of it. So for months I had to go through getting eviction notices because of something their agent let happen. Don’t get me wrong, they did work with me on getting it paid off but the fact is that, I shouldn’t have had to. And also if you want to talk to someone, you can only do it by email cause they number they have is an answering service and you get mixed messages from them. I have had people transfer me to the collections stand others tell me that they can’t do that. Which was very weird. I can say that when my lease is up, I probably won’t use this company again. The house I am renting is cool but it’s the service for me.

Worst Landlord

I would not rent with Vinebrook homes at all. I have been trying to contact the main office to get a copy of my lease; I have not gotten anything in the mail or even a call back for about 2 months now. They have ‘answering service’ all day every day but only operate between Monday and Friday.
Vinebrook puts utilities in their name. Be weary! I would not sign up with Vinebrook if you actually want to be ignored and disregarded on your requests.
Maintenance issues are delayed; so expect to sit around waiting for someone to come by.

Why have auto pay if it doesn’t work

Their auto pay feature does not work. They will charge you late fees if their auto pay system fails. The maintenance button just opens their maintenance web page and it is not formatted for a phone like an app should be. The phone number calls the National hotline and they have no way of contacting the local office. No point in downloading this app.

The website is user friendly and makes it easy to pay your rent and report issues that need addressed immediately. I love using the portal!

Quick n Easy

I rarely download an app if I can do the web. But the website tends to lag sometimes. This time around I was able to see all the payment methods and pay very quickly. Much quicker than the site. It’s very user friendly.

Review

Some of the things on the app are easy to access, but there’s also some things that don’t allow you to access. Like you can’t look up maintenance request unless you know all the specific information and there was one online that was a city request but I couldn’t even open it or read it because I didn’t have the number. But how am I supposed to know what the city is complaining about? If I’m not told what the issue was so I can fix it?
