Horrible - don’t be tricked

I made the mistake of signing up for the free trial & it automatically renewed without any notification & charged me for a year ($99.00). Such a rip off. The app content is not worth the price. The content is very basic & nothing like the ads that pop up on instagram. It’s full of mistakes, boring & definitely not suited to intermediate or advanced learners.

The pronunciation is hit & miss. I really regret getting tricked into this subscription.

Hello! We will try to understand the situation. Most likely you signed up for a trial period. The condition for activating the free trial period is to activate a paid subscription. The subscription terms and conditions clearly state that the first 7 days are free, but after the trial period you will be charged. You can cancel your app subscription before the end of the trial period, but no later than 24 hours before the end of the trial period. If you cancel your subscription before the end of your free trial period, you will not be charged. If you do not cancel your subscription before the end of the free trial period, your funds will be automatically debited. To request a refund, you need to contact Apple Customer Support. Looks good but better if it is one-time payment

As subscription is getting normal now with the apps. It is also a drawback from people who wants to have the app. We do not want to get charged every month. If it is $100 then be it. We can at least make sure we pay only 1 time. But subscription forever? Or until we forgot. Nah. Subcription drains your savings.

It's a trap. you can't leave

Literally cannot find a button anywhere that can alllow me to cancel the subscription. Do not join, you can't leave.

The voice !!!

The actress or voice in which they use is horrible no offence but as someone who isn’t from Japan I need to listen to actual Japanese voices to understand the dialect and get used to the speed voice/actress sounds feminine in my opinion and I wish there was a choice or just a random selection as of voices of any age as u do the activities way to robotic for me there’s like a pause and I don’t understand that between each letter/phrase the style of learning decent and I like how u can skip a work if known otherwise Duolingo is better

Fun way to learn

I’ve just started day one of the free trial. The app is pretty good, a lot like duolongo except they start you immediately learning phrases rather than from the very basics like hiragana and katakana. The forced use of kanji right off the bat is a little intimidating however I suppose I can’t imagine a better way to learn than a cold shower. I think if you’ve taken the time to learn how the language works fundamentally and you’ve started on another app like I have but are looking for a challenge this is just the right app for you.

Volume stopped working

I liked the app when it worked and used it every few days. Good for when you only have a few minutes and want to study really quickly. However about a month and a half ago the Volume stopped working, I tried restarting my phone, closing all other apps, even deleted the app and reinstalled but nothing fixed it. I couldn’t email the company through the app it would just give me an error. The volume not working was an issue when it’s just showing you kanji you haven’t memorized yet and it quizzes you on the leaning. Bro I need to hear it. anyway it was a fine app until it broke and I couldn’t find any way to repair it.

I don’t see a way to unsubscribe my 7 day trial subscription.

I don’t see a way to unsubscribe my 7 day trial subscription. Can you please help me unsubscribe? I do not want to pay for this app. It’s not a bad app; I think it could be helpful to many people, but I don’t think it was what I wanted. Please tell me how to unsubscribe. I will file a refund anyways.

In accordance with Apple's payment policy, subscriptions are managed on the platform side for security reasons, and developers do not have access to the transactions and data of users who have subscribed. Unsubscribed

I downloaded and paid for this app before traveling to Tokyo to familiarize myself with some vocabulary that I didn’t know. I regret paying for the expense when this app is mostly just flash cards, and found that while I enjoyed practicing new words with it, it was not incredibly useful in practice without grammatical context. I tried some phrases out with locals when visiting restaurants but was met with a lot of confusion, which made me believe that perhaps some of the vocab was inaccurate for daily communication. This app cost too much for what I got out of it and I was certainly a victim of Instagram advertising.
