This is the best app I have used by FAR
I tried everything. Downloaded every app for my iPad and could never seem to get my life together. The fact that they offer SO much on the free version makes me happy and willing to pay for the premium, as you can tell they know what they’re doing with the templates, calendar syncing, and ease of you.
Seriously, thank you for not making everything behind a paywall. You’ve made a loyal customer because of it and you’ve made more money in the long wrong because I will be getting premium shortly just to show my support for this app, not because it’s needed to even use the features. Useful, but hope for some improvements
I really like this App, as I have been searching for something that lets me mix calendar planning and journaling. There are some additions or tweaks that would make it better though. Would be nice if adding links inserted a preview of the linked web page (drag and drop of web pages would be even better). Would be nice to be able to easily extend pages vertically (rather than adding new pages in tabs). Overall very useful though!Show lessoilmac
Great planner app!
This is a really great app. It’s simple, gets the basic important info needed, very easy to navigate and use regularly and I love that I can use on my iPad with my pen rather than buying a planner very year and carrying around iPad and planner. I must admit I am only very new at using this app, but so far it has been a pleasure to use and helpful.Show lessLeDALell
Best digital planner
I really enjoy all the customization offered on the app! It’s so easy to make your own template and continue adjusting it. It’s also easy to access past entries. I am very much a paper to pencil person when it comes to planners but once I made a good habit of opening this app, I never looked back. The customization made it easier to remind myself what to write down and makes it easier for me to jot things down or draw things throughout the day. I also enjoy how it integrates the Apple Pencil. I don’t pay for any features but I definitely would to be able to make more pages if I needed to. There have been some times when there was a little bit of bugginess, but nothing major. If I open my iPad upright, the template will load oddly or sometimes the day will open and reset to the first of the month. Nothing that can’t be fixed by exiting and reopening the app. Great app overall!Show lessvictoriamarieayala
The perfect combination
This is exactly what I was looking for. Having you digital calendar and tasks on a write on page is so useful! It all syncs well with apple reminders and calendar (and exchange through those apps). Heaps of templates and the paid version is affordable. I hope in the future they can add iOS 18 features such as smart script. I use this app everyday.Show lessHornsquids
Amazing app but I wish there was a Mac version
I love the sync with the calendar and reminders! All this app needs is a Mac version and handwriting search function would be amazing. But pleaseee introduce a Mac version! Also being able to lock pages with a password would be great so it can function as diary as well!carpet$$
User friendly but bugs
I like this, really easy to use and good features - even in the free version.
However it has a major bug where all the text from a daily entry I’m working on just disappears (I’m using an Apple Pencil). I’ve tried to undo but that doesn’t work. It’s happened 3 times in the couple of weeks I’ve had it.
Also had the opposite issue where a days entry has duplicated across multiple days.Show lessMarkbaz78
Syncing is Achilles Heel
This is a marvelous app if you like the combo of digital and analog: calendar and reminders sync with pencil support. It is the solution Apple should have provided years ago but I’m happy to pay for a subscription and this developer will always be ahead of slow old Apple.
I use iPad Mini as my primary but also iPhone and iPad. All recent and updated to latest OS. Syncing is a big problem. Developer very responsive but I don’t have time to troubleshoot what is clearly a hacky solution that sometimes sees updates and many times doesn’t. I’ve lost work, had to manually move handwriting between devices. Awful. It’s still worth it but I can basically use only one device for input. Shame. Hope it gets better. Would go to 5 stars if syncing was seamless.
Hope, also, that we can add pdfs like we can templates. Amazing to have a doc for a meeting stored on the appropriate day, with your annotations, preserved forever.Show lessatask11

So much potential
I am trying so hard to love this app. It has so many of the features that I want. It is just so frustrating to work with. I expect when I set a template as the default, that all dates will have that template. Sadly, that is not the case. Individually changing the template for every day is time consuming and frustrating. When I make changes to anything, it is hit or miss if it will stick. I spent hours adding things to the calendar, only to find nothing in the app. It is all still on my calendar, so I know it was put in correctly.
I also wish that auto-rotate works for the templates. I want the option to use the pencil in portrait mode, but sometimes it is convenient to use with my keyboard in landscape.
I genuinely hope the kinks get worked out, but in the meantime I will be looking for another app.Show lesswhat 1s the p01nt

Thanks for using AJournal! Users can set the default template in AJournal. But it will only affect pages created after that change. For the existing pages, the user will need to change the template for each page one by one manually, or if the user does not want to keep the page content, use the “Shrink Data storage” function to remove the page. The page is created when you access it.
