  • Not worth 10$ a year

I decided to bite the bullet and purchase a year subscription. The filters are terrible, they don’t even look remotely like what they’re supposed to. There’s no film grain, there’s no option for time stamps, and there’s no Fujifilm or vsco type options. I feel like I just wasted 10$ and plan on canceling my sub. If only you allowed a trial period to see if you even want to use the app but all the camera options are locked behind a paywall. This is a joke and now I’m furious.

  • Great idea, well executed

Really enjoying this app. As a Fuji shooter, the concept behind this is a big selling point, I don’t want my phone workflow to be more complex than my camera workflow.

    Positives -
    • Good choice of filters to meet most tastes.
    • Ability change intensity of the filters is a good addition to dial things back, I like some of the filters a little more subtle.
    • I really like the simple UI.

Ideas / Requests for future updates -
    • Numbers on the intensity slider - I like that it holds it’s values when you switch filter. But, I dial down to 25-50% on some, then back up to 100% on B+Ws. This works and I get by, but, adding numbers to the slider would mean I’d be able to get it in exactly the same spot when I switch back to a colour filter more easily and keep my colour shots as consistent as possible.
    • Ability to tweak some basic settings prior to taking a shot would be awesome - saturation / vibrance, contrast, white balance etc.
    • Self-timer setting.

All in all, Ritchie and Sahand have delivered an awesome camera app, which really does give the iPhone more characterful, aesthetic photos, straight from the app, without needing to bolt other apps on to edit. Snap away, enjoy the results! Highly recommended app, well done guys, awesome work.

  • Great app for a great price!

    Keep it coming!
  • Great app, lots of fun!

This is a great camera app that’s so much fun and easy.
  • Great app! Solid features (even free) and lots of updates.

This app is the best iPhone camera app I’ve ever used for taking creative, consistent photos that require zero effort when you’re in a hurry.

When you have more time or are trying to be extra creative, you can do that too!

Regular updates can continued to improve this features and functionality.
I think I’m going to upgrade to the paid version, not because I want all the extra filters (even though I do!) but more as a “thank you” to the developer.

  • Absolutely fantastic app

I have been using this for a while now and I have no negative things to say. it’s really that simple and the photos look great you have nothing to lose trying it it’s free so go for it
  • Wowzers.

    This is a must have.
  • Great Camera App

I really like this app, even the free filter makes a huge different to the iPhone camera. I enjoy the simplicity while still giving an improved experience, and the easy to adjust exposure is ideal. I wish it had the functionality to use the volume button to capture the image, but other than that I can’t fault it! Good work Ritchie and team!

Thank you for 5-Stars! The Volume button functionality was just added on the recent update. Thank you for your feedback!
  • Fun and makes iOS cam better

I never really like the color profiles on the IOS app and felt the controls doesn't make it easy to just change exposure. This cam app as a better layout of simple controls and color profiles that I would akin to film. Def recommend!

Thank you for your very kind 5-Star review!
  • Probably a nice app

It’s probably a nice app to use but uncertain about a recurring charge to use it. $10 isn’t a bad price to pay to unlock the features available but $10/year is not worth it to me. I’ll keep using my combination of other apps to capture & edit.

    Developer Response

I appreciate the feedback. One-time app fees are an old model that's being used less-and-less. It comes from the old days when apps typically had a life of less than two years, and then abandoned. Now that apps not only stay around for years but decades, it just doesn't make sense anymore. You wouldn't expect Target to continuously update and improve a product you purchased from them years ago. You shouldn't expect that from apps or software, either. The subscription model incentives app developers to continuously improve and update their products to keep their customers coming back. It's a win-win, because once one-time-purchase app sales slow down, the developers don't find it worth their time to maintain, let alone make better, so it falls by the wayside. The subscription model facilitates better apps in the long run. Not only is the subscription model already the most common model now, but almost all premium or freemium apps will be doing this within a few years (the ones that aren't already). One-Star seems pretty harsh for simply using a subscription freemium model--does Apple Music also get One-Star for using this model?
