You will leave a genuine review of a genuine experience, and if the company reviewed doesn’t like what you’ve said, TrustPilot will call you a liar and remove your review. Sadly, we cannot trust TrustPilot, they are biased toward the crooks. If you believe a company that has a high rating on TrustPilot is trustworthy, you could well be falling into a trap of deceit. Chances are the genuine bad reviews have been taken down by TrustPilot because the crooked company didn’t like the fact they have been called out. I have tried to warn people about crooks on TrustPilot, and had my warning removed on the say do of the crooks, and TrustPilot ignored everything I said on the matter, preferring to singularly side with the crooks. TrustPilot is therefore a scam.

But everything costs money, and TP gets theirs from businesses for extra “features “. Criticize one of their patrons, and you’ll be harassed. Compliment a competitor of one of their patrons, and they will pull it without explanation or recourse. Don’t waste your time crafting useful and honest reviews. All that awaits is disappointment.

Trustpilot is a free to use platform. Anyone can use Trustpilot for free, as a business or consumers. While we do offer paid packages for businesses to have access to some of our tools, like analytic functions, Trustpilot is also free to use for all businesses with all its main functions.

Jen | TrustpilotI left a review for a company called RockAuto and I noticed most of the reviews were either 5 stars or 1 star. Mine was a 1 star review for this company based on their theft, as were so many others. So then I started checking out who was giving them 5 star reviews and more often than not it’s someone who’s made only that review and no others. OK so why doesn’t Trust Pilot pick up on this and I picked up on this after only just opening an account with them because a company I deal with on a regular basis asked me to leave them a review on Trust Pilot for them. Which of course I did because they are a good company. But this Rock Auto is most certainly not. So why is Trust Pilot not taking care of these obviously fake reviews? Maybe they are so busy they just aren’t catching it? Maybe. I’m going to see if they improve, if they do I will make an updated review. If not I will simply delete this account because I’m not going to waste my time on a dishonest app or site, my time is just too valuable to do that and so is everyone else’s time.

Reviews on Trustpilot are written by consumers from across the globe. Anyone who has had a buying or service experience in the past 12 months can write a review, as long as our guidelines for reviewers are followed and they don't have a conflict of interest with the business they're reviewing.
Consumers choose which companies get reviewed and the star rating will always be a subjective choice made by the individual consumer based on what they find reflects their experience with the company most accurately. There could be many reasons why the majority of reviews are on the most positive or negative ends of the scale. Our platform should be seen as a helpful resource, but best used together with other checks before making decisions.
When it comes to fake reviews, these are a NO GO and we work around the clock to combat these. in 2021 we removed +2.7 million fake reviews from our platform, with the help of our safeguards and the community. We've several safeguards in place to remove and detect fake review, among others our Automatic software checking our platform on a daily basis for unusual patterns and removing these reviews.
