Plant Parent AI

Plant Parent has a lot of good information and I really enjoyed it. It is helped me often when I was unsure of some things but when it comes to the AI part it missed diagnoses things or types of plants often so I have not been able to rely on it to give me, proper diagnosis at times or even identify plants properly.

I’ve tested it by taking pictures of plants that I know exactly what they are and Plant Parent would say it was a completely different plant. this has happened on at least three occasions. Also, when you want to talk to an expert, you find out that the expert was an AI expert and not an actual human being so that was disappointing as well, but it is a fun app to use and it’s definitely worth the $29 a year for amateurs it is a great app app!

Awesome Companion

Love this app!

Helps me to remember went to water each plant it also identifies plants and tells you what’s wrong with them if they have an issue.

Plant it App

Simple to use and wonderful for me as a novice
I am suspicious regarding watering recommendations mostly every 7 days suggested thou?

Ok but… diagnostics are contradictory

I like this app because of the watering reminders and it allows me to keep an inventory of my plants to learn about each of them. However, when it comes to the diagnosis option, the app contradicts itself. When I scan my plant in it’s save profile (my saved plants) it will say it’s healthy, but then I go in the diagnosis option (not in the plant profile) and it says it’s sick…. Then you can’t have all the information on the disease if you aren’t premium… which is OK, but I’d like to be sure the app is properly diagnosing my plants before paying for additional details and care advice?? I am under the impression that the app tells you your plant is sick just to get you to buy the premium version! Again, when I scan the EXACT same plant in it’s profile (my saved plants) it shows up as healthy??

Suggestions

It would be helpful if the app was more flexible. The light metre is not modifiable though I tried. Also, it would be helpful if one could adjust dates. For example, when the app alerts me to rain, I should be able to move the date.
Follow-up - I tried using this app for my outside garden. Not recommended! The app was able to access weather info re rain but not temperatures in general. I realized I was under watering my outside plants and am going back to my own instincts. While this app has helped my indoor plants to thrive, it does not gather all the outside conditions to come up with accurate advice.

Loving the free weeks trial!

Wow! I am just using this app for the first time and loving it!
It is sensible and gives good advice which I will now be following today!
My only niddle is that it is quiet expensive for the year, are there any plans to make it more reasonable?

Can’t try it

Can’t even try it out before being asked to pay for a full year. If you have confidence in your app this is not how to instil it on your potential customers.

Response from developer

Hello, we apologize for any confusion. Apple's trial process may prompt for payment details, but rest assured, you won't be charged until after the trial ends. Identifying plants

Absolutely enjoy using this app. I have been been all my own plants, friend’s plants, store plants, strangers’ plants etc. It is so exciting to me that I am constantly whipping my phone out to introducing others to it. I even show non gardeners. Keep up the good work.
