Good! Even with free version

I’ve used this app for a few months, and apart from a subscription ad popping up every time you open the app, it is very good.

Usually with apps like this, it offers very limited features with free versions. However, this app tells characteristics of the plant, allows journal entries and gives alerts when you need to water/ fertilise plants. When selecting the plant you want to track, it has a very handy tool that allows you to take a picture of the plant and it will tell you the specific name and what the plant needs, even if you don’t know the name yourself.

It tells you where the plant does best in the house, if it will get enough sunlight etc.

The diagnostic tool is amazing, just take a picture and it will tell you what’s wrong with your plant or if it is healthy.

It’s great to see the process of the plants growing/ changing with the journal entries, as you can input 3 photos of the plants each entry.

(I only have 2 plants listed, so I’m not sure how many you can have with the free version.)

Overall, I love this app for my plants!

My flower sticker is healthy?

I had been using this app for about a month or so, I feel like it’s pretty accurate.
The other day, my teenage granddaughter asked if I would scan her plant, I did and the app said that her plant needed drainage. OK fair enough, then she went around her house scanning all of her mother‘s plants to find out what they needed. It turns out that all of the fake plants need to be repotted… Lol
so then she scanned a flower off of a blanket, the app said that it was healthy. I had a sticker on my fridge which she scanned that said it was healthy… Lol.
Then she scanned my husband ear, the app identified it as a female orchid that needs some care. Well, that got her started on scanning a bunch of stuff. My necklace was identified as green peas, my sons T-shirt was identified as some exotic plant. So I am questioning the accuracy of this app. is AI filling in the gaps? or does this app really not know what a plant is.

Response from developer

Hi there! Thanks for sharing your experience. It sounds like your granddaughter had a lot of fun with the app! While our AI is designed to identify real plants, it can sometimes make mistakes with non-plant objects. For best results, ensure the subject is a real plant and well-lit. Awful app with deceptive terms and conditions

Be really careful if you opt into the free trial. This action will not stop this app billing you for a fully renewable subscription. There is NO MEANS of opting out. The wording is deceptive and manipulative. I was on the phone to Apple for an hour and they were amazed to see how easy it is to be deceived by this App software. The advice in the app on diseases was useless. It gave no options as to what to do with a sick plant. It just said get a different individual plant!! Complained to Apple and through the app. Don’t be deceived.

My experience with this app.

I did start the seven day free trial. I have used this before, but I do not think it was AI before and I’ve tried a non-AI ones and their ignorant and they tell me the wrong things I start testing all of them by asking them questions about plants I already know what they are and when they get those wrong, I’m done with them. This one actually with the AI component has told me true names of plants. My problem is I was within the seven day trial. And you guys made me purchase either one or the many year options. I think I’m in my third max fourth day but I think it’s my third in the trial yet you made me purchase anyway that’s the problem I have with these apps because there’s no phone number to call and I’m glad I can even get anything out information wise to the company because other than that, I am not liking the fact that I wasn’t given the full seven days.
So I paid the 4999 for multiple years, which if they keep their word, this will be a good deal.

Outdoor plants

I just bought a house and started a garden in February was having some troubles when I first started the gardening and came across this app. Since I’ve had this app, I’ve been able to diagnose a lot of my plant problems. I’ve been able to actually delete some of them that it didn’t go well there and was able to get fertilizer and fungicide and watering schedule going. I think this is gonna be a great out for me and my garden. It has flourished tremendously. I live in North Carolina and this is the first time I’ve ever done Gardening because this is my first home. I’ve bought that has such a lush area to plant in. I highly recommend this app. It has saved some of my plants and it is taught me a lot about how to take care of them.

Love Love Love!❤️🪴

I absolutely love this app! not only do I use it to help me take care of my vegetable garden… I use it anytime I want to know what type of flower or weed is outdoors. I take a picture of it on the app, & it tells me what it is,& everything about it. It helps me determine plants I want to keep, versus weeds that are growing near it. It tells me if my plants are sick, when they need to be watered, & also gives me suggestions to make them even better. in the past, I couldn’t keep a cactus alive. Now, I’m growing zucchini, yellow squash, cucumbers, red raspberry & blackberry bushes. They highly recommend you get this app!!

Every Plant Parent needs this!

This app is aimed at helping you take care of your plants. I do use it for identification as well, but that is not its primary function. It is a phenomenal tool for caring for my green babies! I recommend it to all the plant parents in my life—from the dabblers to pros,—but it is especially helpful if you have any memory struggles at all that relate to your plants.

This app helps me make good watering decisions by keeping my time-blind, forgetful ADHD self on a schedule for each individual plant type in its site and conditions. And it takes the weather into account too so that I don’t water right before it rains a lot. It also helps you determine when to feed your plants if you need that.

The watering schedules and reminders are especially helpful for indoor plants.

The plant identification tool that works with your camera is really decent. That’s not its primary job, but the app does it well enough.

Where the app’s camera tool really shines, however, is in evaluating the health of your plant and identifying the likely cause of any distress and then explaining, in detail, how to treat that issue.

I’m so happy this app exists, and I am deeply grateful for it! I’d give it 11 out of 5 stars.

My plants are now THRIVING!!!!!

I have been using another app from the App Store (I won’t say the name out of respect) for over a year but my plants were slowly dying one at a time. I switched to this app and within days I realized my plants were either getting overwatered or underwatered. Most of them weren’t even identified correctly. I love this app because it makes everything so simple yet there is so much information within each plants little hub. So you can research and diagnose and learn so much about all kinds of species of plants. And every morning I wake up and I am excited to go and mark off my watering or fertilizing checklist. Every girl loves checklist!! I now have 67 plants that are all healthy and growing so fast. Thank you, PlantParent!

Plant care

Love this app, love the reminders on what to do to my plants and when. Also love how the reminders such as watering changes depending on things such as temperature & weather. Since I started using the app I have managed to get one of my orchids to produce almost 10 flowers in one cycle. Would definitely recommend.
