User Reviews: Affinity Photo 2 for iPad

  • Found the Panorama

I found the Panorama button. It was hidden. Love it so far. I think it still confusing to use… You should do a Migration path from the version 1 to version 2. I am lost….
  • I really want to like it.

I downloaded this app because it has the ability to do HDR Merging, or so it claims. However, I have no clue as to how. Their own ‘Help’ section has very easy to read instruction, however they don’t jive with the user interface and I believe those instructions are for the previous iteration of this app. “From the Home Screen, click the + symbol”. There is no + symbol on the home screen. Thankfully I’m only doing a trial and didn’t actually pay for this. If there is a way to do it, it should be reflected in the help section. Im sure once their done using their paying customers as R&D, this app will be a real banger. Especially since as it stands, it’s more feature rich than Photoshop for iOS, which itself can’t do HDR merge on iPad.
  • The Professional Workflow Standard

I have been using the desktop application for about 2 years now to completely sever ties with Adobe. It hasn’t let me down once. One of the main reasons I got the iPad Pro was for this app specifically. It has now become a critical part of my retouching workflow. The first version was great and I am already blown away by V2. I was more than happy to pay for the new upgrade as it has proven its value project after project. I am honestly surprised people don’t understand that they got free updates for V1 all the way through 1.10 and it has always been known that V2 would be an additional cost. It’s either buy and own your software or subscription model which is why we all abandoned ship (Adobe) to begin with. Stop complaining. End rant. Major props and congratulations to the affinity software team. The previous version was great and this one is even better. The interface is intuitive and the changes and subtleties are a clear response and care for the user experience.
  • Great but needs some improvements

Its now so much closer to the PC/Mac version that ever before but still lacks a lot of the assignable keyboard shortcuts that I’m a custom to. Along with the the brush tools not being displayed while using them is a bit of a pain example like using an eraser tool or blemish/clone tools there is only a live preview of what’s about to happen but there is no outer ring of the tool for guidance. If the keyboard shortcuts get updated along with preview of the tools my ipad can replace my Mac instantly when paired with a keyboard and mouse and external display.
  • So great

What a steal! $99 for the whole suite of professional software for my Mac and iPad! That’s freakin amazing I don’t get why people complain about that.

So many new features and swiftness to it, I love the update keep up the good work so I can keep up mine <33
  • Trying to get my money TWICE

If you pay for an app a it should receive support, that’s what you pay for. They need money to make it better. I purchased the first version about 30 days ago and now they want me to pay AGAIN for this minor upgrade. I’d rather give my money to photoshop that is easier to use and has more power. If I’m going to support this second tier software then they need to support their customers. I hope this company losses its loyalty for being greedy.
  • Use to be the standard.

So I am pretty far deep in the Affinity ecosystem; (all iPad apps, Mac apps, and even their hardcover training books)

I was stoked initially because of the “buy once” software model. This is why I left Adobe and why you got my support.

However: adding features that should have been added long ago; including Designer for iPad, and slapping a number 2 behind it and making us pay for the privilege of the “upgrade” is far beyond something I will ever support or endorse to my friends and associates.

Please make ONE good product, and go crazy on the support for it. Not split the community between something bought and abandoned by the developer and essentially a forced upgrade to use the current features and UI.

Please don’t go the way of many other greedy developers and put revenue before your product and your own customers.
  • Very good photo editing app, why do I have to buy again?

Don’t get me wrong I love affinity photo on iPad it’s by far the best photo editing app but why do I have to buy it again? I just bought version 1 not that long ago and now it’s not even obvious if will still supported. What happens when Affinity 3 comes out? Do we have to buy it a third time?
  • Very happy!

I have been using photo and designer for editing photos for my business. I have been extremely happy with these apps and very pleased to have an update. Even better to have publisher available on iPad as I do not use my MacBook Pro for editing anymore. I find it much better to work on the iPad for everything.

I didn’t hesitate downloading and paying for all 3 apps!! And IMO neither should you!!
  • UPDATED REVIEW

I figured out my issue! I had to go to account and click on something that said resync assets or something but once I did that, everything worked. I’m so excited for this now. You guys rock so much for this software and the price is unbeatable which is why I bought all three right away. I can’t do Adobe monthly subscriptions anymore and this is exactly what I needed to move away from that back into a space where I own the apps I need and I have access to them on my iPad. Perfection! Keep up the incredible work. You have my full support.

Original review: I bought all three apps with the understanding that I could open a project in one app like Publisher and switch seamlessly between the three apps to get the full functionality I need for my projects, however StudioLink is not working and it keeps saying I haven’t downloaded the other two apps regardless of what app I’m currently in. If this gets fixed, it’s an easy five stars but without it, I feel like I’m losing a ton of potential. Thanks for reading and I hope to fix my rating to five stars <3
