Free is good enough

The free version of Mercury is a very good, simple weather app without a lot of bells and whistles. It's "Dynamic" data source selection is just as accurate here in the Southern Hemisphere as the other paid for subscription based weather app I use. Premium unlocks a couple of other sources and some other features such as Trip predictions, Wigets, Apple Watch face ect.
If you don't need a lot of frills the free version of this app is perfect.

Okay on a phone but not on iPad

Update:
Thanks Kai for the quick response. No idea how I missed the tap and hold feature. Still holding on to one star awaiting the iPad update:)
Also want to note that this works well on my Vision Pro!

Not sure if devs actually used this on an iPad? On my 13” the app only utilizes 50% of the screen real estate- that would be okay if it was not for the fact that seeing wind details (when activated in settings) is useless on the small widget. I would have like to see the ability to tap that “widget” and have it zoom out taking up a larger space so you can actually see the values of the wind speed etc…This is true on the phone too. For now I canceled my subscription so it will not renew at the end of the year…if it improves I will sign up again.

Response from developer

Hi! Improving iPad support is on our roadmap for January. Before that, we're releasing weather notification support next week and aiming to get weather maps into the app in December. As for hourly details, it's not very obvious, but you can tap and hold any hour in the hourly chart (both on iPhone and iPad) to get a little bubble with extra details. There, you can see the exact wind & gust speed values. I hope that helps! :) Kai

Minimalist design, good forecasting

Having tried many weather apps I recommend Mercury weather for accuracy and ease of use. One glance and you know. No digging and scrolling. It saves me time and frustration. I find the travel feature useful.

The widgets are beautifully designed and interactive. They work well on my phone. Lots of info packed into a tiny space.

Fantastic App

Low cost annual subscription makes it a great value.

Can’t change to metric

Seriously ? You can’t change values to metric and can’t add more than once place ?

Limited/ missing features

Found this on the Dev spotlight in App Store along with Orbit. Their Orbit app looks useful, but Mercury weather app seems to be an unfinished product. At least there's a free verstion, but I really don't see the point of a $15/year paid version when there are no forecasts, no weather map, no weather radar, and no severe weather alerts. Some reviews said they still have to the stock weather app because they need alerts and radar, but why bother with Mercury even if (what little of it there is) looks polished and shiny.
This is no doubt a good weather app for anyone needing the very basics of weather information.
Devs, if I'm wrong correct me and I'll relook at anything I've missed, but this app so far misses the mark for me.

Would be 5 stars if…

I just wish you could use home and Lock Screen widgets without paying, and also a couple more features for free users would be nice (ex: minute by minute rain graph)

Most awesome and Beautiful weather app

Is it hot? Is it cold? Is the app amazing? People want to know.

New.

Sweet.
