  • Good app

    Best invest are a decent company to invest with and this app is very useful for researching funds and investing then keeping track of the portfolio. There is one niggly issue with logging in to the app, it offers the set up via Face ID on Apple iPhone which I do but then when revisiting the app later Face ID does not work you have to set it up again. I have managed to set it up again it works a couple of times then it has to be set up again. There does not appear to be any support number for app tech issues.
    I’m running IPhone 15 latest iOS.

    I had a response from the developer who say they are aware of the issue for some users and are working on a fix. An update from myself - If log out of the app I have the issue logging in next time, if I leave the app without logging off on my return face recognition works.

  • FaceID has stopped working?

    Just set this app up yesterday and was pleased to see that it supported faceId but I’ve only used it once and I now cannot click use faceID button as it doesn’t do anything?

  • Amateurish Design, unreliable service, poor functionality, high prices

    The app design is low contrast and there is no way to change the colour scheme, contrast or the font size to make it more legible. For anyone older or with any visual impairment at all it is simply awful.

    The app regularly fails to load data and the only way to fix it is to delete and reinstall and the FaceID rarely works for more than 2 days.

    With regard to the product. Best Invest don’t have a stop loss function which is simply unforgivable and say they can’t implement one due to the custodian they use. Stop loss functionality is available from most of their competitors so I wouldn’t recommend their product on this basis alone.

    A tiny range of US stocks are available and none from any European exchange. If you want to hold US stocks then you have to phone up and then some weeks later someone will complete it and you find out by not getting the error message.

    There is little or no research available for equities or ETFs so you find yourself searching Hargreaves Lansdown and what there is is inconsistent.

    Bestinvest seems to be targeting the Freetrade or first time investor demographic, but its prices are way too high. If you’re a hands on investor then get a different product. If I was opening an account again I’d do it with Interactive Investor.

  • Dumbed down

    Previous Bestinvest format had regular accounting items such as a transaction sheet containing all types of transaction. Investments were set out in such away that one page showed all relevant details. Now one must keep scrolling the app to find those details and transactions are separate under numerous headings. All very pretty, all very tedious. This does not look professional and I share gradually move funds to a ‘grown ups’ provider.

  • Refinement needed for use

    Hands down this app is far from the finished article and is scary at how poor their maths is for a firm who deal with money. They cannot calculate your performance correctly, not even close. I used the feedback feature in the app, I was called back to confirm they see what I am seeing. The app has not been updated…since my complaint. In short, the percentage of your performance is totally miscalculated, in SIPP at least. Example a £900 loss on a £20k account is not a 47% loss. It’s hard to believe an app has been released with such a blatant and terrible error.

    Do not trust the maths.

    I will say, depositing and then investing that into shares is hassle free and easy.

  • Error in declaration date - UPDATE

    I notified an error nearly a week ago but still no response nor. Correction. Tried to open a share ISA but the declaration still says “not paid into another stocks and shares ISA this financial year (6 April 2022 - 5 April 2023).” We are in financial year 2023 - 2024. Have just sent another message and will see if I get a response this time.

    UPDATE. Still no response, so I have opened a new account with an alternative broker.

  • Super easy for time poor investors

    Really convenient and quick solution for tracking investments on the go. I’m super time poor (I’m enjoying the app so much I’ve carved time to type out this review!) so anything that helps me maximise my schedule efficiently delights me! Love that I can see my kids JISAs too all linked together on my account.
