Good for marketing but not management

As a LL, the app very much caters to marketing new properties, but doesn’t have good features for managing existing properties. For example, you can’t just click on one of your existing properties to locate the payment history, documents, maintenance requests, etc. Everything is about renting it out. And it’s not intuitive. For example, you have to use the “create a charge” feature on your dashboard in order to see whether your tenants have paid rent. Maybe the website makes more sense.

Thank you for your feedback! We take it very seriously and are frequently releasing new features. You'll notice now that instead of "Create a Charge" on the Dashboard, it says "View Payments." We will also soon be adding the ability to create a charge within the mobile app.

Love and hate

I have transitioned all my rental to using TurboTenant and has been leaning toward paying the annual fee.

1. Messages, It would be great if it does not require the tenant to sign up for an account to see the message sent by the landlord. Due to this none of my tenants actually uses this.

2. Need more functionality (payments, Leases, etc.) build into the app instead of redirecting it to the website. Making it pointless to even download the app.

3) the latest update seem to have more crashes. Please look into this. eg. clicking on the Help link and it crashes out.

Thanks again for your review! To follow up on your comments about more functionality, we have made many updates to the mobile app since your review including adding Payment information. Leases are on the way. We've also made updates to address crashes. If you are still experiencing issues, please reach out to support@TurboTenant.com with more details. Keeping this from the original reply: For security purposes, all messages are stored inside the Landlord and Tenant portals. This also eliminates the need to keep track of text, emails, and DMs with your tenants because everything is in one location with read receipts and attachments. Your tenants will also need to login for things like rent payments, maintenance requests, and viewing or signing documents.

Needs more web features

App works great, it would be good just to have payments feature on it too

Useless App- basically a Web Application Portal

Can’t manage anything since it’s an app that directs you to the website for about everything. Why create an app where you can’t do anything natively?

NO iPAD VERSION - USE WEB VERSION OR BE STUCK WITH TINY iPHONE SCREEN

As with many of these apps there is only an iPhone version, i.e., tiny screen, no Landscape view. WHO DOES SERIOUS BUSINESS ONLY ON AN iPHONE? Oh, yes, that’s right, the generation that grew up on tiny game screens played on tiny phone devices. This may work for some, but does not work for all. Even those children whose babysitters were their phone devices with their tiny screens grow up and want serious software to assist in their professional and business activities. I use and iPad, on which this app provides an iPhone view on a large landscape view iPad screen, which is about 1/4th of my screen. Thanks, but NO THANKS. If you’re like me, or the millions like me, you’ll probably find it more convenient to use this company’s website to access the available features. And, using my iPad to access this company’s website, I am able to use my big beautiful iPad screen. Plus, as a bonus my iPad is just as mobile as anyone’s tiny iPhone or Android screen. ONE STAR for being cheap in not paying to develop a real iPad version.

Customer service waiting time 1-2 days! REALLY, what kind of situation will wait that long! Maintenance requests should be on DASHBOARD!
It was impossible to find; it took me up to 10 tries to find and I’m not sure how I found it.

One thing to keep in mind, our app is built for the marketing stages of the rental process. You can access the full Landlord Portal using a mobile web browser, including your maintenance requests. Buggy laggy overall low quality

Every time I click a link to view a message from a landlord it takes me to the same glitched out page. Overall garbage app wouldn’t recommend

I recommend uninstalling the app and opening up TurboTenant in your mobile browser to access your messages and get in touch with a landlord. Great Website, Disappointing App

I expected a lot more from this app as a landlord. It’s like they built an app just to have an app and never talked to a single customer about what would actually make building an app useful.

Here’s a tip to the Product Manager running this; Only include features a landlord would use on a daily or weekly basis. This includes:
1. Accounting/expenses - the main tab should be adding accounting transactions. This is the most compelling reason to have an app on your phone that you use almost every day.
2. Maintenance - managing your maintenance requests from an app would be very helpful.
3. Payments - visibility into payments frequently would be great.
4. Messages - managing all messages and responding quickly through an app would be great.

The app currently only has functionality you would want to use a computer for, not an app.

Disappointing.

I was so hopeful for this app to manage our properties. I tested it in one and it seemed to be amazing. I entered all my prospective tenants from another place and listed one of our properties to test out. My account was then suspended with no information.

I contacted them and was told I had to provide documents via email (an unsecure request) of which their TOS do not state it’s a requirement only that they can ask. If that’s the case it should have been done initially instead of suspending my account AFTER I sent links to tenants and now they are unable to submit.

I redacted identifying information and provided the necessary requests and was told 1-2 business days. I am still unable to login and retrieve the information I entered and do not thing it’s very professional to lock so one out and hold their data as hostage that does not belong to them.

With their lack of service I would not recommend at all.

Scam or useless

I paid the fees and nothing happened at all for more than 30 days!! They wasted my money, time, and energy!!!
