Leave a Review Evie Ring
  • Piece of junk

There are few purchases I regret more than the Evie ring. I have had two rings since first receiving one in mid-February; the first lasted 2.5 months before the battery just died and would no longer take a charge, and the second one worked fine for about month before its battery got so bad that I have to charge it every 4-6 hours. I was most excited about the sleep tracking but the ring won’t last a single night. Movano has told me they will send me a replacement ring (my third) but I am shopping around for another brand.

Even if you get lucky enough to not get a lemon (assuming they make anything else), I still wouldn’t recommend it. It’s hit or miss tracking sleep, the spot check never works unless you are sitting perfectly still (so worthless during a workout), and the other data are nothing special. The only thing Evie has going for it is you don’t need a subscription.

  • Gaslit myself for too long

I was so excited about this ring and one of the first to receive the ring back in January. I’ve worn it consistently for months now and I’ve wanted to love it but it simply just does not work.

Upon opening the app a few weeks ago, it prompted you to update immediately or the app won’t work but then it wouldn’t update. After finally completing the update the next day, I realized that all of my data for the last 5+ months was gone. Not that the data it was collecting was accurate to begin with… the sleep tracker has gotten better but now my heart rate data also stopped collecting itself (one of the main reasons I bought the ring was to track symptoms).

It seems like there’s so much broken behind the scenes that they don’t even know what to pay attention to. At the very least can you look into an open workout feature that functions as a stopwatch (counting up) versus as a timer (counting down). It’s impossible to know down to the minute how long my workouts might be.

I’ve been rooting for you guys and have tried to remain optimistic that it will get better over time, but this does not live up to the hype.

  • Good idea, still needs work

I got an Evie ring after wearing out my Oura ring. I’ve been watching/waiting for Evie for abt a year. My first Evie ring worked great for a week, and then wouldn’t hold a charge for more than two hours. The company was great and sent me a new one.

This new one under reports most things, and will also mysteriously disconnect from my phone/app without any reason as to why. My phone is on and the app stays open. It will disconnect from my phone despite my phone being 2 feet away from me during the night. So sleep data comes back as 2 to 3 hours as any data collected while it is disconnected just disappears, it isn’t saved/stored like it is supposed to be. It does the same during the day. The ring won’t reconnect until I put it back in the charging box. I’ve alerted support, let’s see what happens. I like the look and feel of the ring and hope this is all just the growing pains of a newly started company/product and that it will get better.

  • Huge disappointment, advise not buying this device

Like most everyone else I was excited about being an early adopter of the Evie Ring. And like many other users, it has been a huge disappointment. The sleep data were terrible, but that did seem to improve with the last update. But about 2-3 weeks ago my battery suddenly died (for a ring that was only 2 months old). Unlike many users, I had a good experience with Customer Support and they replaced my ring quickly. Then yesterday during a workout the app stopped working. I was only able to fix it by deleting and reinstalling the app, several times, and I lost all of my previous data. I suppose I will stick around and see if things get better, but if I had to do it over again I would not buy this thing.

On top of the problems, the interface isn’t that impressive. You can’t do much with the analytics, just look at individual measurements over time but not integrated, and the metrics over time aren’t very detailed. I will say this; their marketing is excellent, I definitely expected something revolutionary.

  • I love this ring!

I did a LOT of research before purchasing this ring. I was an Apple Watch user for years, but as someone who struggles with disordered eating and exercise habits, I found the constant reminders to close my rings more triggering than helpful. I love that Evie lets me set my own goals, and it it doesn’t constantly hound me if I have an off day. I also love that step counts and exercise minutes, while broken down daily, are set as weekly goals. This is so helpful at giving me an overall picture of my progress. The app also helps me keep track of my cycle, and it’s free unlike some other smart rings. With the price, aesthetics, features, etc., I can’t recommend it enough.

The ONLY downside I’ve had is the battery life. I’ve had the ring and worn it consistently (only taking it off to shower + wash my hands) since February. The battery has held up very well up until the last week or so where I’ve noticed I’ve needed to charge it more frequently. It does charge VERY fast though, so this is definitely not something that would keep me from repurchasing.

  • Honestly, don’t waste your time or money.

Wanted to give this startup the benefit of the doubt… ordered the ring in advance and received (delayed) around February. The ring unfortunately does not do really any of the things as promised. The worst part though, is that there are also VERY few updates to amend some of its shortfalls. Probably only two updates since launch? And the issues they claim it fixes are still not fixed. My sleep is off every single night. The battery dies much quicker now than it did when I first got it. Doesn’t provide insights at all, instead it’s up to you to log how you’re feeling. Oftentimes I’ll open the app and it doesn’t even show my ring as paired. Just a lot of issues and not a lot of communication from the company discussing how the issues will get fixed. In hindsight, should have just gone with the Oura from the beginning.

  • There’s potential

TL;DR I like my Evie ring a lot. It does what I need it to, but there are some minor annoyances I find in the features.

So I’ve had my ring for a couple of months now, and so far I’ve enjoyed it — it’s done mostly what I need to do. However…. Some of the features on this app are woefully inaccurate and the lack of ability to edit, say, workouts, and sleep after the fact is annoying.

The sleep measurement started out very accurate for me, but recently it’s terrible. It’s said that I went to bed at 10:23pm and woke up at 8am, and I actually went to bed at 12am and woke up at 10am. That is a SIGNIFICANT time difference, and the inability to fix that data kind of ruins the metadata. For me, there’s been a few times where in the mood tracking, I’d like to add in another symptom of my own, but Evie doesn’t offer that option. As someone trying to keep track of possible health issues, that was a feature obviously nobody bothered to consider.

All in all, this app has potential as software updates and ring updates comes out in the future. The interface is easy to use and simple to learn, but there’s just some features I think are missing. If there is one massive failure on the developers’ part, I would say it’s the lack of communication and transparency with their customers.

  • You get what you pay for

I was so excited about the Evie ring when I first heard about it and even ordered pre order back in November. I originally wanted an oura but having to spend more for a gold ring and pay a monthly subscription just wasn’t worth it to me. Evie’s price and lack of monthly subscription seemed perfect for what I wanted! Well, I should’ve known that you get what you pay for. None of the insights promised from their website have been delivered and even basic features don’t work regularly. Despite wearing the ring every night, I’m lucky if it tracks my sleep 4 nights out of 7 each week. When sleep data does show up, it sometimes takes half a day to be visible in the app. The step counts remain off by 4,000 or more steps per day. And for a ring marketed “for women by women” there’s absolutely zero insights or features enabled for period tracking. It’s a super clunky interface and doesn’t offer the option to add custom moods or symptoms or health notes. Basically- save up your money and just get an Apple Watch or oura. Evie is nothing but a disappointment.

  • Disappointing

I was excited for this ring geared towards women with a more appealing visual app. I have been an Oura ring wearer for 5 years. I was drawn to the ring design also (flex of ring is so helpful when hands swell or when someone shakes my hand a little firmly). However, Oura added app readings in a couple updates just before Evie shipped. These updates blow Evie out of the water as far as what information it provides. I too have struggled with battery life of the Oura ring (especially at the price point for it to only last about a year) but it well out performs Evie. The readings don’t seem as accurate as Oura. The information is super basic. It’s not even as much info as Oura provided when the ring first came out. Evie takes a very long time to upload and process data from ring into app. I have had issues with my Evie account. Somehow Evie connected to an email account that I don’t use. When I created my account I used a specific email but all communication came to a different one. Now for some reason my ring has disconnected from the app requiring log in and my actual login Information isn’t recognized. I’ve had to delete my app and tried to login again but it wants to use my email to set up a new account. I’ve lost months worth of data now. I’m highly disappointed in the ring and app. Oura has its drawbacks but it is leaps and bounds the better choice.

Positives: ring flexes, color choice at lower price, portable charger.

  • Ring is kaputt and no customer service

I was pretty excited about getting this ring and though delivery was pushed back a bit, finally received it in February. At first, all seemed to be good, the app is simple and I really just wanted to track my sleep. Then I started to notice that it was very inaccurate. I knows that I didn’t get up at 645 as I would be late for work and I also know I get up sometimes in the middle of the night and that didn’t show. About three weeks ago the ring just died, wouldn’t charge or sync. We tested the charger station and it was fine. I reached out to Evie and I don’t think anyone actually works there cause I got a bot answer and crickets. Kind of like buyer beware. If you are looking for this type device I would suggest looking at the companies that actually RESPOND to their customers instead of what you see here. Would give negative stars but not an option. Very sad.
