WARNING! Absolutely 100% a SCAM

Do NOT download this app! You will be charged for the trial. You can NOT cancel the trial. It will never take you to the page, it will repeatedly tell you your password is wrong. I’ve changed it twice. This is a scam and so is the guy on TikTok who recommended it. This is a company out of Israel. I have sent several messages asking for assistance to CANCEL this. It’s utter garbage. I tried cancelling 20 minutes sorry installing it with no success. I have reported them to Apple.

Hi Bobbi, Thank you for your review. I’m sorry to hear about your bad experience. If you wish, you can end your premium protection at any time on your Guardio Membership Page. Once there, select Change in the section titled Plan, then select Turn Off. Regarding the charge you are seeing, this is an authorization, not a charge. It’s called an authorization hold, and it’s a common practice with free trial services. By the way, most gas stations also do exactly the same before you start filling your car. An authorization hold is carried out by payment processing companies when you start your free trial. They are basically getting your bank or card company to authorize your payment in advance - kind of like a test payment.
If you’ve asked about Guardio’s location, we are delighted to provide our services to users worldwide, regardless of their location. While Guardio caters to a global audience, we are registered in New York, United States, and our payment system operates in US Dollars.

SHUT THE APP DOWN

first of all they STEAL your credit information. The free trial is a fake. second it hasn’t been helpful at all. Put this app down to its grave.

Response from developer

Hi there,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We would be happy to assist with any issues you encounter.

We are sorry to hear Guardio wasn’t helpful in protecting your device, and we will be happy to hear more about your Guardio experience and how we can improve.

As for why we require a card, it’s all about security. We work to make the Internet safer, and we must ensure our users are monitoring their own information and not that of another person. We take no shortcuts when it comes to data protection and privacy. If you still believe this is a concern, you’re welcome to use our limited free protection to scan for data leaks and receive alerts for suspicious sites, but I really do think you’ll be impressed with all of the advanced security features available with our premium protection. If you’d like to try it, you can activate your free trial at https://www.guard.io/activate.

Charged for a free trial

Charging for a “Free trial” is absolutely predatory and disgusting.

Don't Download If You Are Expecting to Be Charged After Trial

$9.99 charge at sign up. I wound up cancelling right away because 1. I can't trust a company who charges for a "free trial" and 2. Everything they reported to me I get through my H&R Block account. Hopefully they'll refund my initial charge when the week is up.

When you’ve started your Guardio subscription 7-day free, you are not being charged. Your payment method is being authorized.

It’s called an authorization hold, and it’s a common practice with free trial services. By the way, most gas stations also do exactly the same before you start filling your car.

TERRIBLE

I would give ZERO stars if I could. They make you pay 9.99$ when you think you’re signing up for a FREE trial. Then when you try to end your free trial so you don’t get charged, THERE’S NO WAY TO END YOUR FREE TRIAL. And they don’t answer, so I’m ending up getting charged 9.99$ without being able to cancel my membership. DUMBEST APP EVER!

I’m just highly confused..

It’s not right that you guys charge someone’s credit card $9.99 when downloading this app. It was mentioned that you would charge after the 7 day trail. Yea, that’s a lie. You guys charged my card right away. That’s not right!

More of a question

So i have multiple emails can i use all of them on one account or do i have to make military accounts

Response from developer

Hi there, Thank you for your question.

You can add five email addresses to your Identity Monitoring feature. With this feature, any time an account linked to a protected email address is involved in a data breach, Guardio will send you an alert to take steps to secure the account and avoid potential identity theft. To add any other email addresses that you have, here's what to do: 1. Press the blue "Edit" button shown on your Email Monitoring Page. 2. Enter the first email address you'd like to add and press "Add+." 3. Verify the email we've sent. You can then repeat those steps for any other email addresses that you'd like to protect. If you're experiencing any difficulties, please reply to this thread.
