Going solo is an AMAZING app. It connects you to other solo travelers from all around the world and for only $4, gives you a Tinder-like platform to like/dislike other travelers, message them, and even follow them on instagram. It’s perfect for people who want to solo travel but who also like making connections along the way :)
This idea is really good, as it addresses a problem that many solo travelers face — we want to meet other travelers and it can be hard to meet people as a solo traveler, especially people who maybe don’t like or feel too old for party hostels to meet people. However, this app is clearly unfinished, and paying for the app did not improve my experience with searching for other travelers. I’m glad that there’s finally an app for solo travelers, but the user experience needs to be refined to be worth paying any money for it.

I downloaded the app SPECIFICALLY for the matching feature after seeing an ad for it on Instagram. Nowhere was it said that it would be a paid feature, not in the app description, not on the ad, nowhere. I had to find out about it after I had already downloaded the app, created my account, and given them all my information. I would never have downloaded it if I had known first that this was a paid feature. I feel like I was lured into a situation I didn't wanna be in. I hope you can be more clear with your future users.
This app is literally perfect for solo travelers! I love to travel so knowing that i can make friends aboard who have a common interest is amazing! I can travel stress free not having to worry if ill make friends or not.
If you love to travel and meet new people from all walks of life you gotta try this app out!
I love the features this app has. I’ve been on other travel apps and this is one of the only ones that I can add captions to post, that I can add and view other people post without the distractions instagram has. It’s a nice community where everyone has something in common (travel) . It’s nice to see the plans and see other people who has visited give advice to those going. 🌎💕
As a kid I dreamed of living all over the world. My grandmother was definitely the reason for this, as she was an incredibly adventurous, and somewhat wild woman. As I got older, my dreams were criticized because “that’s just not the way life is supposed to be.” This app changed everything. It goes way beyond the idea of traveling, though it’s obviously wonderful for that, but even just purely for the inspiration you get from others living the life you were told didn’t exist. It’s beautiful, and I can’t wait to get out there
As someone who started solo traveling about a year ago, I found it really hard to meet other people unless I stayed in a hostel! I love doing work exchange programs and using the Going Solo app was the perfect way for me to meet new people. There’s also a feature that allows you to join/ create groups for travel that is super helpful. I would recommend that everyone exchanges instagrams and phone numbers to help with safety. This is a great way to meet people, especially for those who are a bit more introverted.
I’m an experienced solo traveler, but very introverted and still a bit intimidated by meeting other travelers while abroad. I typically rely on hostel social events to meet others, but as I expand to traveling to countries that are a bit more out of my comfort zone, I’d love to make buddies to share experiences and stay safe with. This app seems like a great tool to do this and get inspired by other solo travelers. It’s a nice set up already, and I can’t wait to see more people join!
I looove this app. It is so refreshing to be able to find people so quickly to enjoy solo travel in the moment, and not stress about introducing yourself and meeting new people. There is such a sense of community amongst solo travelers that Going Solo helps foster!!!
