Unable to book clients from the dashboard
This is a miss on 17hats part. So we take calls from clients and should be able to book appointments for them over the phone, and if they’re already a contact or have a previous project with us, we should be able to go to their project page or contact page, click booking, select the service and have their information like name, email, phone number etc; automatically populate into the booking system, but NO, all of this is impossible to do with 17hats. There is no way to book clients without going to the external booking page, and having to ask them for their information all over again, which looks unprofessional especially if they have a record with us, there is no way to override booking the time internally. The scheduling part of this system is sloppy. I will update my review if this changes.

Keeps freezing
So frustrating. I cant get anything done because the app keeps freezing especially when Im attempting to create a quote. Is it too much to ask???
Glitches when sending emails
For the most part the app works great for on the go client and event management. However, I’ve noticed that it ended up glitching quite a bit. For example, when I go to open the app, it opens and then immediately and I have to open it again. Also frequently and I am ready to send an email. It locks me out and I can’t hit send or save or clothes or anything. I have to completely shut down the app and reopen the client and resend the email. Sometimes it takes 2 to 4 attempts to actually get it to send

App crashes so say goodbye to your estimate
Every time I’m writing an estimate it crashes and I have to start over, waste of time.
Good but not great
I like this app but I don’t love it. It doesn’t allow me to do everything I can do through the website. I downloaded the app so I can use every feature of 17 Hats when I’m not on my computer but, unfortunately, this app doesn’t allow me to. Please give us the ability to do everything we can do through the website on the app.

Best. App. Ever.
It's the only app that can run my ENTIRE business from the palm of my hand. I love how everything I do from the desktop version of 17hats can also be done within the mobile version as well!

The app wont work on my phone.
Not bad, but not great
Overall the app works pretty good. It needs some serious improvements though. I shouldn’t have to log in every time I open the app, that’s a bit frustrating. If anything give us Face ID so it’s faster. I would also like to be able to create projects and send contracts/quotes to clients. It’s not quite as useful as I hoped it would be. I think you need a UI overhaul too. It feels outdated and I’m hearing honeybook is taking the lead because they have more frequent updates.

Love the program but hate the App
I love 17 hats as a program, works great on my laptop and iPad but the app on my phone is so faulty and inconsistent. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. It’s frustrating because most of the time it’s NOT working on my phone. But when using on my computer it’s totally reliable and easy to use. Please fix the app already…it’s been years and this is something that will make me switch programs eventually.

Blank screen
The app used to work well but now every time I launch it it goes to a blank screen. Seems like they haven’t updated it to work with recent iOS changes. Pretty disappointing as I really need to access client information when I’m out on the road.
Not good! why can’t they make it better?
Whenever I click on a notification it goes to a blank white page. How have they not fixed this yet?
Why doesn’t it remember my login information or have the ability to know it’s a login situation. Every time I want to login I have to manually type in my login information. So frustrating!

Hasn’t worked in months
This app has shown a blank screen for 2-3 months now. It’s making us rethink our options as we are on the road often and tired of having to use the clunky safari option. Please fix this!
Clients receiving duplicates
For some reason when I accept bookings on my 17hats app on my phone vs. on my laptop my clients start getting every correspondence double time. For example: 2 of the same invoices which is extremely stressful to our clients. With how much we pay and the time we have put in trying to make this program truly work for our business, we are pretty frustrated by how unprofessional this issue makes our business look. I’m doing nothing different on my mobile app than I would on my laptop to accept bookings and start workflows. Going to make another complaint, but this has happened multiple times now which makes me not want to use the app all together. I’ve done lots of trouble shooting to see if it was a “user error” but it’s happened again and I was so careful regarding what I clicked. When the app works, it’s great! I genuinely like using 17hats, but apps either work or don’t work, and this issue is intense enough for me to no longer rely on it. Fix the glitches and I’ll be back on the bandwagon.

Freezes all the time
This app is well overdue an update, it’s so glitchy, freezes & has to be restarted & sometimes just doesn’t work for days. I end up logging into the main website on my phone browser instead which defeats the purpose of having an app.
Makes Life and Business Easy
I can not tell you how great 17 hats is! The customer service is extremely helpful and knowledgeable and responds quickly. This app makes owning my own business a breeze with client management. I can’t imagine life without it. Thank you! Xx - G
No app updates for over a year.
That’s kind of concerning. Program is decent but needs improvement. For example, receiving a notification about a contract being accepted, clicking on it, and being sent to a blank page. Something like that should have been fixed by now.
Still lacking in useful features
Update March 2021: the app hadn’t been updated in over a year and still isn’t functional, but 17Hats keep asking customers to download it. Try supporting it and maybe I’ll use it again. Rubbish!
Original review: At face value this is a big improvement over the previous disastrous attempts 17Hats have made at writing an app. I wonder if the improvements are merely visual though as the app is still lacking in some essential areas:
1. Projects are shown in reverse order. This means scrolling backwards in time to find the next project on the list.
2. Events within projects cannot be clicked on to show further details. When out of the office and using the app, this is probably the most useful feature that has not been added!
3. Emails are not included within a client or project window. What is the pout of using 17Hats for client emails if they cannot then at least be viewed in the app? This is a vital feature that needs to be added.
I will continue waiting for 17Hats to come good on their promise of a fully functional and useful business management app. Maybe they should actually ask users what they need from the app before jumping into developing a series of useless releases??

Love the app!!
It’s awesome having all of my client management in one place and at my fingertips thanks to 17hats and this app! As a photographer who travels a lot, it’s a must to be able to work from my phone and this does not disappoint! Plus getting those push notifications when you get a new Lead or get paid is a total highlight in my day!!

Finally!
I’m very impressed with the full functioning App! A little disappointed I didn’t get any announcements as I took the app off over a year ago and just used the mobile browser. Now I just discovered they released a full functioning app 10 months ago. Better late than never.
