So far it sucks
I’ve had 1Password standalone vault for years and it’s been great. I’ve recommended to everyone. Forced to update to 1Password8 Acct and it sucks. Still have not been able to migrate items from my 1Password7 vault. Everything it says to do is wrong and not available as an option. Do not recommend.
Autofill
It would be helpful if you could add Autofill per entry rather than globally.
Best on the market
Been using the app for about 5 years now. Yes, was caught off guard by a price increase, but still worth the peace of mind and smooth functioning of the app I use on a daily basis. Might switch to something else if rumours of AI integration end up being true, but until that happens I will remain a loyal client of an excellent product.

4-years on and still no Mac App Store version!
How is there still not a Mac App Store version of 1P8? AgileBits, you’ve had 4 years to figure this out, it’s really not that hard to provide a MAS version. And given how much the AG team has grown, there certainly isn’t a lack of resources at the company to make this happen. Not providing a MAS version reeks of laziness and disdain for Mac users (which was already the case when 1P8 switched to being an Electron app, but I digress…)

Error rate has increased
“Something went wrong” when I open Safari, almost every other time. Baffled that the best password manager still can’t tame iOS.

It used to be better....
It rarely syncs between my laptop and iphone, so password changes lead to infinite errors and required changes and frequent lock outs. It used to work really well with chrome, now I generally have to look up each individual account and copy the password while entering the account name. Yeah, automation was great until it stopped. Now I have a database of accounts and passwords that are sometimes right unless a password was updated.
And holey moley Batman, when I started updating to 1password's recommended long passwords, I was doomed with just infinite problems and lockouts.
Yes, I do used my phone and laptop interchangeably and often at the same time! If you are going to do that, beware.
I loved this app previously and can't believe one of my favorite apps could cause this amount of frustration and time consuming problems.
I will update this review if using 1password improves, else trust me, it's resting on its aged laurels.

First class support
I needed to transfer from standalone 1Password 7 to 1password8. From various support personnel I received help over several weeks. I want to highlight the support from Errol who doggedly guided me through the process step by step. Notwithstanding my inadequacies he got me through it successfully. I can genuinely recommend the Support team to all users. Thank you.

Love 1Password!!
I have been using 1Password for a couple of years now and it is hands down the best password management tool I’ve used. It makes keeping track of all my passwords a breeze and it’s super secure.
10 Years of Data Lost. Poor Support
1Password, after an update that they recommended, could not recover 10 years of password data. Nearly six months later I am forced to rebuild this info. Email help only is not enough and very frustrating.
From Hero to Zero
Usually when you pay at the high end for a simple password manager, you expect better service. Since they raised the price by 33%, this app fell off a cliff. Support is abysmal despite no doubt seeing all these responses asking you to email them. Trust me, that’s another interminable situation. Has significant issues with Safari it never used to have. Cannot recommend under any circumstances. Use Apple or Bitwarden.

Update: developer responded asking me to contact them. But I had already reported these problems to support without much progress. Response was either disingenuous or just out of touch..

"welcome" screen... why? Several times in the past year it was unable to fill credentials on sites.
(Unacceptable: This is your primary job!) They raised prices for unwanted “new features,” but the basic functions don’t work correctly. This is pretty poor. Recommendation? Bitwarden. (PS: problems on iOS too…)

Complex and counterintuitive
Tried using this for my family. Spent hours setting up and changing passwords only to have constant issues across family members, multiple devices and multiple accounts for same websites.

Been using 1Password for many years and it has been a brilliant tool and has always been a 5star app until yesterday (3rd July 2026) when I went to use the app for a password to copy and paste into another app but the 1Password app has suddenly decided to not use Face ID(never not worked before) and now won’t even accept any iterations of the Master password, I have close to 200 passwords which I now CAN’T access, I wonder if anyone from 1Password is reading any of these reviews that will get in touch about this, not pleased at all

Used to remember
Way back the app used to remember where you navigated to when shut down and reopened. Now it ALWAYS starts on the home page and to navigate to where you want to be takes two to three clicks, at least. Please revert this behaviour or if you can’t, at least let me add “all items” to the homepage.

Just horrid
This used to be a great app, but it’s just lost its way. Long time user who has upgraded since basically v1. Would not recommend any longer.
Hard to manage family, safari constantly loses connection, and the QR code to enable new devices no longer works for me. I give up.

Every update they change something in the UI to make it worse.
It now takes several steps to just search for a password… the literal sole purpose of this app. Oh and thats also touted as a cool new feature if you go find the thread on their community where people are complaining
Horribly glitchy
I have so many issues with this app that I'm about to give up and move to another.
