Bug Ridden

This app like so many other Apple apps is so full of bugs and so frustrating to use. For someone who has his own music file library, this app makes one question why keeping using Apple products. New Music app for MacOS is a joke. Trying to sync apple devices to my library is hit and miss and requires reboots of MacBook and devices at times to sync properly. So I started using iTunes on windows which seems to be more stable, but the Remote app randomly displays different playlist and playlist folders just starting the app or creating new playlists. Taps on virtual buttons on screen, such as “Playing Now” do not work at times and require tapping another button or restarting app. This doesn’t even qualify as an alpha release, much less beta or live rollout release.

Awesome for controlling Music & Videos on a Mac and older Apple TV, but can’t search Apple Music

This app makes it so easy to search and control a 3rd gen Apple TV, since you can use a keyboard to enter your search. It’s also great for playing music and videos from a Mac – you can even change where it AirPlays to, which is awesome.

What it lacks is the ability to search Apple Music if you’ve got a subscription. It only finds songs already added to your library. I have a playlist of internet streams, which it finds, which is great..

Trying to connect to a Mac that is sleeping is hit and miss. I wish I could always remotely wake it and start some tunes.

Brilliant- BUT See Below

I could not live without Apple Remote. I have spent so many years putting my large CD collection into iTunes - my main leisure experience is listening to this collection. This is done via several Apple Express Boxes and Hard Wired Speaker Systems. Mostly Controlled with the Apple Remote App on my old iPad & iPhone X. I WILL NOT UPGRADE MY MAC (which I am considering) OR EVEN UPGRADE TO CATALINA UNTIL I BETTER UNDERSTAND THE DEMISE OF iTunes & New Music app thingie. I equally therefore NEED TO KNOW HOW the REMOTE APP WORKS (or DOES IT ?) WITH “CATALINA” ? Etc.

Remote

Works well when it works. Keyboard disappears regularly.

Works ok

It’s good having the remote for Apple TV on my phone. But it doesn’t always show or register my Apple TV even when I have it on, meaning I can’t use the remote if it doesn’t register my Apple TV in app. Works great when it registers.

Rate me! Rate me!

Really don’t like the way apps are allowed to bug you to rate / review them. Surely the App Store can collate the data in relation to how many users download an app, keep using it, update it and don’t delete it. Statistically, these people are happy with your app! :| So an app in the store could have stats listed, such as 1,162,814 downloaded this app last year - 1,851 people deleted it within 12 months. I’d call that a successful and popular app. Job done. Don’t bug me for ratings if I’m still using your app. Obviously I like it. If I feel inclined to give you suggestions (that you’ll likely ignore) I’ll go to the App Store and take the time to write down what I think and what has motivated me enough to give you my valuable time, as I have done today ;)

Apple Music!!!

This is a very handy app especially if you’re like me and play music from your machine(desktop/laptop) connected to a home theatre. Mac or PC it works and you can change songs with ease. The only reason I didn't give it 5stars is coz it lacks the ability to play Apple Music, it’s only limited to items saved to your library so you can’t search the entire catalog on Apple Music.

Fixed at last

After being nerfed with MacOS Catalina iTunes remote is finally fixed and working again, thanks Apple.... but maybe don’t take so long next time or even don’t break your own apps in the first place.

What a relief to have this thing working at last.

Works better than Music does at present. Search actually works. While I am in Bluetooth range of my Mac there is nothing better to shovel music into my AirPods. Now if you could get your Mac to specify your iPhone as an audio device you could enjoy all your Mac music on your phone in Wi-Fi range while Apple gets Home Sharing to support large Music libraries.

Apple Music Where are you?

Catalina got rid of the forever spinning beach ball that was present in the last iteration (abortion, really) of itunes on Mojave, especially when ripping music from a cd.
But remote, which has had many issues over the years, seems to have an amnesia problem, this time losing track of its host computer, even sometimes while it is playing a playlist! Only way to reconnect is by deleting the remote and reestablishing the Connection. It works for a short while and then the same thing happens.
I use this with Hegel music products, one of the best, if no THE best airplay receiver.
I have been using iTunes and airplay for more than 10 years. It has steadily gone downhill as iOS and intoxicating profits drove Apple’s focus, while OS X steadily went downhill.
The dreaded Apple permissions debacle is enough to make a grown man cry. The only person this is going to keep from copying the music is the Apple computer owner. A thumb in the eye for being an Apple enthusiast.
I have owned most everything Apple makes, including Xserve.
It used to be fun to work with Apple. Now it’s a hair pulling ritual. For the first time since I started using Apple, I an thinking of alternatives.
Lastly the interface with music and iphone is terrible. Just awful.
Can’t see playlists, edit playlists, delete playlists along with their songs.
Clearly Apple doesn’t care. And it’s very very sad.
