  • The draws, though...👎

It’s a good, fun app when you hold the phone horizontally and play quickly. Having said that, there is usually one bot who gets nothing but good hands, even if they start with garbage, like 7-2 offsuit. Sometimes this is “Connie,” but more often “Chris,” who has drawn a full house on me to beat an ace-high flush and quads to beat a full house. In fact, he has drawn quite a few quads, usually at those moments you really need your straight or flush to hold up.

The bots are also obscenely aggressive preflop and often see trash hands to the end and often draw out on them. They go all-in all the time, which is super annoying. They don’t give a fig for pot odds, either.

So while I really like the music, speed and atmosphere, the card-dealing RNG is questionable and the bots’ betting behavior is outrageous. I also really dislike the inevitable “really lucky bot” who gets nothing but boats, straights and sets.

EDIT: Played again today after a few months. The bots got quads four times in less than 10 minutes of play. What universe does that happen in?!

  • Great interface, but AIs are brutal and annoying

Everything about gameplay is amazing, but I just wish the AIs weren’t so brutal. Someone goes all in pre-flop with 5-3 off-suit. You have to fold almost every hand until you finally get good cards. Very easy to win, place, and show since they take themselves out by going all-in all the time, but would like more realistic AIs.

But everything else is amazing. Don’t mean to be negative, just not like real poker with AIs

  • It’s a bit like a cheesey movie...

You know, the kind of movie where the gang of crooks have set up a scam game, and know what the mark (that’s you) has, what cards they will be dealt. I have had players go all in right off, have a seemingly unbeatable hand, and get wiped out because one of the bots has a higher hand that they should not have known was coming. They make bets that are a little too perfect. Apple needs to make the deals truly random. You win what seems to be a fixed percentage, and can tell when it is your turn to advance. If you play the Garage, you can accumulate quite a bit of money to pay entry fees, but you risk losing a large amount. And the bots are all rather nasty characters. They are arrogant, smug, even vulgar. If you are playing in portrait, they can be quite annoying. At least in landscape you are spared that.

Please Apple, make it a realistic game. It is too predictable.

  • TEXAS HOLDEM

Texas Hold’em is a great game and this is only my first day playing it I also already have about two hundred dollars. One time I played it and most of the time I got bad but about every time I put most of my money in and usually they folded but sometimes they didn’t and beat me but I still got my money back and also won first place! All I am trying to say is that TEXAS HOLDEM IS A GREAT GAME!!!

  • Impossible to beat

Would give it a zero if i could. Played it for several days. I’ll admit the game play can be addicting but it ultimately becomes too frustrating when you realize there is no way to win. Early in a game you can gain some momentum. Once it gets late and there are only a few players left, opponents get incredible hands and start betting outrageous totals. You’re always tempted to call their bluff but their never bluffing. Their hands will always beat yours late in the game. I dont care what your cards are, they will always have a better hand. Completely impossible to win this game.

  • Great

Need to show your pot balance without having to bet.
Also to leave game is hard as cards dealt too quick so option to cash out
  • Novice pokerchip

You’ve got to know when to Hold’em... know when to fold’em.. know when to walk away... know when to run... perfect to learn the game and hone my skills in poker
  • Pretty Good

Not bad, fun game. In a real game, unless you are playing against some real morons, some actions of the opponents are mindless. Examples are going all in after all cards are on the table and having low cards and not even a pair; folding on the blind when nobody has raised; betting wars. Also, I know of two hands where my opponent and I have the same hole cards and at the end I was awarded the pot - programming.

The multiplayer mode is a great way to learn to coordinate and cheat for real cash online games.

Still, it’s a fun game and it’s free.

  • Next level

What’s happens when you reach and win 100k table...nothing game is over....when you have a few million it’s no challenge...why don’t you have 500k + tables up to billions...after all its play money. Then you would have a gr8 on going challenge...for now tho ..boring
  • No Consistency

The game has no consistency, which is annoying.

I recently played a game where the prior deal split money between 2 players with 1 equal card, despite the fact I had a better 2nd card. However, the literal next deal had the same situation and awarded all the money to the player who had what I had held the prior hand and it knocked me out of the game.

I have also played numerous games where the game will split the pot on a hand where one player may have a certain hand (ex. 1 pair), but the next has a better hand (ex. 2 pair, 3 of a kind, full house, etc). The lesser hand gets a couple hundred dollars, and the better hand gets the remainder. The better hand should always win it all. Every poker rule book will tell you that.

Game should be a lot better than it is. I will say the “entry fee” part is also a bit ridiculous. Most fees double (50, 100, 200) before going from $500 to $2000.
