  • Great

I don't get why other people are having problems but it gives me resturants that are really close to me with addresses & everything (shown on google maps too if you like) so I don't what you people are talking about. It's great and it works fine it even get you location with the gps so if your getting America when you live in the uk well there's something wrong with your phone not the app.

  • Works fine in Major Areas

Living in London this app works fine and turns up some really interesting places (although it doesn't find our favorite Spanish?? Hmm). But very useful to find something new. I'm giving it 5 stars because in a major city it's a great app. However, I've tried using it out in the sticks... Where it is a little hit and miss so I can see why some people don't like it.

  • could be better

it's ok, but not brilliant. Tried to use it the other day to find somewhere to go to dinner with the family but unless you lock the categories, the shake facility is pretty biased somewhow (9 times out of ten it kept insisting there is little else in the area than indian restraunts, which is not true, and not suitable for a sunday roast LOL) The selection is not fantastic, oh and if you're in London it will insist on constantly throwing up airport "restraunts", and lets face it, who wants to go to an airport just to go out for dinner? Anyone??? Needs more work, but no real reason not to try it either as it's free.

  • A Fun app - Needs a bit of Improving though

This is a fun free app that chooses where to eat when you shake the phone. Need to have more flexible distance from home options. Up to 1 mile is not enough but nearby takes me about 15 - 20 miles away.. Need to be able to set favourite locations / towns aswell. misses out quite a few restaurants. if you are in an area you dont know i dont know how accurate it would be. otherwise nice concept and its free so have nothing to complain about really

  • Fab

Great app we use it loads when travelling and it hasn't failed us yet on recommendations.
  • Excellent

I've found this app to be 1st class and it works everytime! It does count on users to update it with reviews etc to help others, I live in Huddersfield and tend to eat here along with Leeds, Bradford and Manchester and have found lots of the restaurants on the app to "like" or "not like". But I've also added 4 missing restaurants which were reviewed by the urban spoon team and added to the app within about 8 hours.

It's useful, it's free, and the more active users the better it will become!

  • Great App (if you understand what Urbanspoon is about)

There seems to be a misunderstanding about what this app is about. It is simply a mobile interface to an existing website where the database is user-maintained. If a restaurant is missing, add it and write a review for someone else to read!! That's the whole point. I have added photos, menus and reviews on the website and use the app in conjunction with this to both add info and read others. There are just some features missing from the mobile app that are available on the website.

  • What's the fuss about?

First of all, I'm on an iPod touch. I live in Bolton, near Manchester in the UK.
After letting Urbanspoon use my current location it found hundreds of restaraunts near me. I seriously don't see why so many people are moaning, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it!

    So why 3 stars?
Although it runs smoothly it needs touches, it doesn't feel, completely finished. If these touches were added, along with more restaraunts, it would be a 5 star app...

  • If you're a Melbourne foodie, download this NOW

I put off downloading this for a long time because I didn't think it would work in Melbourne, Australia, but I was delighted to find that it does. Simply fantastic app, I love it! Sometimes it recommends restaurants that have closed down though - it would be good if there was some kind of button you could click on to tell mods that that restaurant is no longer available. (For example, Interlude in Fitzroy has closed down, but Urbanspoon will still suggest it. When you go to read its reviews it does say "We've heard this restaurant is out of business", but it would be good if it filtered any places with that status out from the shake search.)

  • Good concept but needs more uk coverage

Only 2 stars and here is why.
The concept is great the application works very well with a simple clean interface and is overall very good. It does work in the UK but in limited places. London and Manchester I have found choice but not many other places. I use vicentey which works better for me and gives more information. I have removed this app for now but will try it again in six months when with luck there will be more coverage. The app and concept is worth five stars but any application can only be rated on useabilty and at the moment with the lack of UK coverage it's not useable for me and therefore only 2 stars for now.
