Awesome tool, HORRIBLE DATABASE.
Great idea for an iPhone app, but the database is horrible. PROS: I think the interface is fantastic, and a pretty nifty tool to use if you're trying to find somewhere different to go. Both fun and impressive, and utilising the technology available. On interface alone I'd give 5 stars. CONS: The database is littered with mistakes. Eg. Melbourne - River Kwai is in Clayton, not Glen Waverley. You've got an address and postcode that suggest Clayton, yet it says Glen Waverley. The problem is in the database - the website is showing Glen Waverley as well. FINAL WORD: At this stage I can't trust this app to do the job it should do. I'd recommend NOT downloading this until the database is fixed, as it will only lead to heartache when you find out the restaurant is not where it says on the app. However, I'd be more than happy to re-review and give the app 5 stars once the database problems have been fixed as the program itself is great.Show lessJonny_Jager
Needs content
As others have pointed out, this app has a nice slick interface but unless you are looking for something in one of the cities listed, it is all but useless. For UK users that's just five cities, and the suggestions given really aren't up to much. This wouldn't be so bad if there was an intuitive way for users to add content, but I signed up and then tried to add a popular restaurant in Brighton. The interface accepted all my input - including Brighton as the city, but then published the restaurant as being in Croydon, presumably because that is the nearest city it supports! Until this app becomes extensible and covers all the locations that users input suggestions for, it will be of little real use.Show lessmacbitz
Brilliant
From the moment I downloaded this application I knew I would like it. It was recommended by a friend and I have suggested it to other friends. I have even found two restaurants close to me which I did not know about and will have to try. I understand people who live out of London not being happy but they can always add their favourite restaurants where they live.Show lessCambridgedragon
Great App
I downloaded this App when it was first available as I thought it was a fantastic concept. However it didn't work at all where I lived. So what did I do, well rather than complaining like a little girl and deleting it in a huff I emailed the creator requested that the city I live in was added and sure enough after a couple of updates it was there. It now works great and contains many restaurants near me. After all patience is a virtue. Keep up the good work.Show lesspd4286
Great Ap, location issue appears sorted
I read many reviews all saying the same, great ap if you live in London. However, I live near Bolton Lancs and this ap has found plenty of restaurants within this region. I would have rated 5* but I did not succesfully download any reviews from any trials, even using wi-fi instead of 3G. I can see me using this ap a huge amount as it adds variety when considering where to eat. All this for free! Download and try, it doesn't matter if your region doesn't appear, but I think the developers have resolved that issue already!Show lessLeady74
Great app!
I saw in your summary page that Adelaide wasn't listed so I didn't bother downloading it & then I saw it on tv & it looked great so I decided to have a look anyway & to my amazement it now has Adelaide and the first time i shook it, it suggested one of my fave restaurants! I love how someone can submit changes or submit aditional restaurants & it is checked & uploaded in 1-2 working days! There are heaps of restaurants in adelaide but not all, I'll upload some & I'm sure others will too so it won't be long until we have all of them listed. I love how you can read reviews from other members or other publications, how you can look at menus and upload this yourself if you want or put up pictures of the yummy food you're eating :0) This app is the wiki of restaurants and I just can't wait!!Show lessdarwiniandude
Great concept that will only improve with time
Saw a lot of the negative reviews out there and was expecting the worst. But this is a cool app, with much better local coverage than some other reviewers are suggesting in and out of London. The integrated features with expert and user reviews, along with the innovative area, category and price search works really well. 5 stars!Show lessMahds
Could be far better
App owners need to concerntrate on getting more places on board, the app has huge potential but is at an early stage. In the future I'd like to see the ability to reserve a table or even arrange a take-away to be delivered. But for now, unless you live in or find yourself eating in the major cities often, you'll unfortunately find yourself deleting this app pretty quickly for your area is likely to not have coverage..
Note to app owners:
Just a thought, have you tried approaching Yell or others to obtain a database containing restaurant info to upload? I'm unsure of whether currently the restaurant is being charged to place an add with you, but due to current climate, money may be a little thin on the ground.. How about turning the payment system around? - I'd certainly pay for the app if it had decent listings, and I'm sure others would too.Show lessMagical Magic
Pretty good
Works fine, try Reading the instructions before you post a review. It even found the worst chipshop in Scotland hidden in deepest galashiels. Not only that, it will guide you in like a remote control bloater if you push for the maps. Of course, up here we all feel sorry for you poor English people who are stereo-typed as Londoners. Give it a chance....
This app has taken a slating. I expected it to be rubbish and not work, but it was free and featured on the iPhone tv add so I thought why not? It's immense! Lived here in Bham for years and hit shake at least 15 times but agreed with every choice it gave me. I admit I already knew the places it suggested but they were top choices. Can't wait to use it in a city I don't know well. Get over it people this is good! If you live in a small town just get out and eat, why use the app!!Show lessRob071938
