Amazing

This app has brought me and my kids a new outlook at the stars and planets that surround us... it has gotten us so interested that we recently bought a telescope!! And this app makes it star gazing a breeze, enjoyable and exciting!!

Excellent app! I use it frequently... OK almost daily!

Has many features than most amateur astronomers would not want or need (e.g., traditional constellations from multiple cultures) but they do serve to foster a greater interest in stargazing among others.

Back to mention my latest appreciation for GoSkyWatch: tracking NEOWISE!

My biggest quibble with this: it lacks a โ€œmake the freakin clouds go away!!!โ€ button.

One of these nights I hope to finally be able to image Comet NEOWISE.

Great

The app is really comprehensive, easy to use and intuitive.

Compass wrong on iPad

This problem has been pointed out already by others. Iโ€™ve tried the suggestions made by developer support. No success. Disappointing as this looks an informative app.

Response from developer

Please contact support so we can help figure out what is going on. Try using the iPad without a case. Often there are hidden magnetic and metallic parts that people don't know that are there that can interfere with the compass. By default the app uses Apple's auto location which may not always work particularly on WiFi only iPads. Try setting a location manually by picking a nearby city from the list built into the app.

Google Maps for the Universe

Go To feature is great !!

Great app! Camera AR would make it better.

So far I love the app and have used it to spot the NEOWISE comet. The only thing I can think of that would make the app better is camera AR. That way you could see exactly where the star, comet, etc. is in the sky.

Junk. Doesnโ€™t work

Got this just to find comet neowise. It could not even find the 4 compass points. Pisses me off that Iโ€™m ripped off now.

Response from developer

In some environments the compass can get disoriented. Check that you are not using a case with hidden magnetic or metallic parts that can interfere with the compass. To help the compass calibrate faster move the device around in all directions. Also check that the location is set correctly as by default the app uses Apple's auto location which may not work in some cicumstances.

Love this for star-hopping

Use this app at my telescope. Like the ability to zoom and scroll to where I am looking, and find it really useful for star-hopping.

Lifebeyond

I down loaded this app years ago. I still use it. Love it!

Potentially fab

Love the detail, and all the features HOWEVER i often have a difficult time syncing it to my local coordinates... can be off by many degrees.....
