(Fixed!) Too much junk on Home tab
Update: thanks for putting My Scores back at the top of the Home tab!
Original: It used to be that the My Scores section was at the top of the Home tab (it’s even still like that in the marketing screenshot on the App Store listing). Now I have to scroll past 4 screens of other junk (irrelevant news and ads) to get to My Scores. You can set the app to open to the Scores tab instead where there’s another My Scores section that’s at least at the top, but on the Scores tab My Scores is missing the important Past/Today/Upcoming switcher, so I can’t easily navigate to the results of yesterday’s game. How many times do I need to turn off news updates? Every. Damned. Time! You update the app, I have to go *back* into the settings and tell it, *again*! that the *only* updates I want to pop up are score updates! If I want to read sports news, I know how to open this app, or another news app, or ESPN in a bloody browser! Ok, whining aside, I've been using this app for sports scores since before Yahoo bought Sportacular. I've tried other apps and have never liked any of them as much as this one. With a few annoyances, this is still the best sports app out there!
Update: July 2024
On the scores page why does it show sports I haven’t selected and doesn’t show ones I have? I could not possibly care less about car races or tennis. But even though I’ve selected Copa America it doesn’t show up. I had to go to a browser and google to find the latest scores.Show lessRevChewie

The app is in need of an update. It’s stale and features have broken over the years. As well, they really need to allow us to block publishers. SI is uninformed and nothing more than clickbait, yet their garbage clogs my feed. Please bring yahoo sports back to the level it was at, when there was quality sports journalism inside. Reply to dev response: one thing that comes to mind that is broken is the customer support. If you try to report bugs using the “send feedback” path on the app, you can’t. That’s the only place to report bugs in your app, and it’s too buggy to work. No matter how valid your email address is, the form will not recognize it. I find it hilarious that you didn’t respond to my issue with all the untruths SI publishes within your app. Not many ways to defend publishing lies and fantasies, which is what SI is now.Show lessc.moff

This app is great for knowing what your team is playing today! I have a group of PJ’s for every big Indiana team, and i had to look up who Indiana was playing. Turns out, they were playing Maryland! This app also has a lot for new people to explore. Like the team records! And the best of all, the win probability is AMAZING! I am so obsessed with the stats! But, one thing. Can we add win probability to NCAAB? I wanna see what the full game was without seeing highlights, so I look at the win probability to see what actually happened besides half and final. One suggestion
This app has a lot of the things that I am looking for. I like to keep track of my favorite teams and each day, I’ll even add some games that I’m interested in and get alerts on those as well.
However, the one thing I think is missing is that when I add games I’m interested in, I want them to be highlighted in some way. As it stands right now, once I back out of the game page I have no idea whether I added that game or not.
Would it be possible to make it to where the games I’m interested in also goes up to the “Favorites” section? Or maybe highlight both teams in a different color so they stand out when I’m browsing scores?Show lessBKCBKC
Too many notifications + bad UI
I downloaded this app at start of NFL season to try something different from the ESPN app (due to their pop up ads anytime I opened the app) but The amount of notifications this Yahoo sends is absolutely out of control. For NFL, I only have 3 alerts turned on: breaking news, Packers and titans news….yet this app still sends me 25+ notifications every day(!). It really seems they just send a notification anytime they post a new article. I want breaking news notifications for the NFL…I don’t need to be notified every time a new article is posted.
Also the standings page for leagues is rough…there are limited views (no league-wide view, conferences on different tabs preventing you from seeing them all at once).
The game stats view is also rough. When looking at play-by-play for NFL games for instance, there is no data on how many plays/yards/time was used on those drives.Show lessthisonetakenquestionmark

I’ve used this app for a long, long time, basically since my first iPhone. It used to be so much better than the alternatives (ESPN, I’m looking at you), and I’ve probably kept it around for too long out of laziness and nostalgia. But this latest update is the end of the road. The app is now too hard to navigate and fails at the basic purpose of “give me somewhere easy to see all the sports scores in one place”. Sorry Yahoo Sports, formerly Sportacular - the time has come for us to part ways. I hope your designers find their way, because right now they are very, very lost.
Edit: Yahoo, you really need to update your auto-responder to these negative comments; many of the responses have no relation whatsoever to the comment (whoever is responding recently seems obsessed with dark mode for some reason). Also, in case anyone is looking, I’ve been using theScore since deleting this app. I’m not sure I like it as much as the old Yahoo app, but it’s pretty good and easy to use.Show lessBibster111

Is there any chance y’all could make a custom filter option when viewing NCAA sports scores? For example, when looking at college football, I frequently use the “Top 25” filter and the “Power 5” filter, but I would really love to be able to create a custom filter that would include both Power 5 games and any other Top 25 games to look at in the same section to include Group of 5 Top 25 team games that are important that week.
Same goes for college basketball, except it would be awesome if you changed the Power 5 tab in college basketball to Power 6 to include the Big East, which is a power conference in basketball.
I love this app, but it’s very difficult when viewing college sports, especially college basketball with 362 D1 teams, to find the games I want to look at and would really appreciate an option to create custom score filters such as “Big 12 plus Top 25” or “Power 6 plus Top 25” or even an option to always include my team on the Top 25 tab.Show lesshomeintwo
I love this app, but …
This is (by far) my favorite app for getting sports results, but it has one extremely annoying glitch. When viewing Team Stats (for NFL results, anyway), the leader in each category is indicated by a small dot on that team’s side of the ledger, and that small dot is often black. That’s fine when the display is in light mode, but I prefer dark mode (all the time). And, when the display is in dark mode, that small dot is still black, making it nearly impossible to see. The Sports app is ok… the overly progressive yahoo sports writers are trash
If you don’t want to read any articles then this is a great app. If you want inside stories that are sports-centered and are devoid of political leanings then I’d look elsewhere. I used this app for years and years and it just got to the point where they left me little choice but to seek an alternative sports score app and I had to flee from their hyper progressive, liberal politics with their writers. Some things in this world should be politics free… that’s one reason a lot of people tune into sports and not the evening news- no politics. And I’m not talking about the debate involving trans athletes… that’s legit sports news. I’m talking about things political that have nada to do with politics yet they somehow find ways to bleed their political opinions all over the stories.Show lessGriffGruff7088
