  • Plain Ridiculous!

I have told Yahoo! about the same “bug” and yet nothing gets done?!?! When commenting all the sudden the app looks like it’s “searching” or “refreshing”(The Searching thing pops up and in the middle of the screen it stays!!)
and you are unable to post your comment. You can continue to type BUT you can’t fix any mistakes or post, you can’t get out of commenting, The only thing that you can do is close the app and open it back up again. Yahoo will not allow you to comment if your comment doesn’t meet their guidelines yet Yahoo writers can write whatever they want, They can voice their opinion about any and all athletes, coaches, Team owners or whoever and regardless of how wrong, untrue(I could prove writers have written false articles if I could post a screenshot here)the article is it is still allowed to be posted. Yahoo will allow. Divisive comments, Yet if I want to call another commenter out for his/her ignorance I am the one not allowed to comment. Yahoo will “suspend” your commenting privileges also, you won’t be able to comment on certain articles, Oh and it’s obvious why those articles can’t be commented on also Yahoo 🙄 bottom line, Yahoo has lost its way, like the other sellouts

  • This app is the GOAT

This is the best app out there, straight up. Has the info you need, quick and easy, and doesn’t force articles and video on you if you aren’t interested (you know what app I’m talking about). Also personalized notifications for individual teams.

One fix, please: in college basketball, on a player’s profile, the “recent career” section is broken, it only shows their current year stats. Please fix, as it used to show their career stats, including what school(s) they were at in previous years!

  • Include all golf tours, not just that you approve of

Like it or not, LIV Golf is now a real golf tour. Other than some articles that seem to be written by a PGA Tour lobbyist, there's not much else. It's okay to include LIV Tour tournament progress and results. It's just golf and it's still sport. Personal ideologies shouldn't dictate sports inclusion or coverage. Without any real barriers to entry, it was foreseeable and inevitable that another golf tour would emerge. The PGA Tour has become too comfortable with their monopoly status and their behavior has been telling. As they continue to ban players, they weaken their own efforts to market their own tournaments and deliver value and marquee players to the tournament sponsors. There's room for everyone. Otherwise keep up the good work.

I'm sorry you don't like some of the new features in the app. I will pass your feedback along to our app team.
  • Still great, but increasingly glitchy

I primarily use Yahoo for tracking NFL games and liking up player statistics. Short of watching the game live on tv, this provides the next best option of watching a slightly time delayed play by play with nice graphical overlay of the football field for visualization.

It has become increasingly glitchy, however. It’s a bit buggy looking up player stats. Some players simply won’t appear when you search they’re name exactly as it’s rendered. You must access the player’s team and locate the player this way.

Also, Yahoo recently dumped NFL player stats for all history save for this last season. Unless you’re looking up last season’s stats this is pretty useless at this point. I’ll hang in there to see if these issues are corrected, but will need to migrate to another platform if they persist.

Due to rights restrictions, a few games will be restricted to cellular only. Most games will continue to be available to be streamed while on a Wi-Fi connection.
  • What happened to ticket link?

I really like the app for being able to check a quick score or see upcoming games. I have recently noticed that you can no longer buy tickets through the app. It used to have a little 🎟️ icon up in the top right corner of games and you could search tickets but it has since disappeared. Was that an update or should I still be seeing that? It was always a great way to check out last minute tickets to the local NHL games but not seeing it as an option anymore. :-(

  • Gotten very buggy in recent months

I’ve been using this app for many years, since it was called Sportacular. It’s a great, clean app in many ways, but recently it’s become extremely buggy. About 75% of the time when I open it, it immediately freezes, and I have to wait until it crashes on its own to reopen it and get it to work. Force quitting it doesn’t work - when I reopen it after that it’s still frozen, and the only way to fix it is to wait 30 seconds or so for it to crash before reopening. Overall it kind of seems like this app has become an afterthought, which is unfortunate.

  • Bugs

The app doesn’t go all the way down whenever your scrolling through the bar settings on the left corner. In stops at the Yahoo logo, & you can obviously see the, “Terms and Privacy, logo and it’s so annoying to look at. Same with my notification settings. I go in there and theres teams that are there that obviously not my favorite team. And even if u log out, reinstall the app, it keeps showing the team that supposedly, I had already deselect. But, it still shows or the bell is gold when nothing has been selected. Bugs or lazy software engine. Or when I do deselect a team and it does work. It makes the whole notification page go completely blank.
Last one, When I pick a team like an hour before the game starts, or if I decide to change my pick of choice of which team to select to win. It shows that last pick. But, when u look at your history pick, it’s sticks with the first pick. So, if I accidentally picked the wrong team. There’s no refresh or anyway to get my picks fixed? It’s an annoying bug or software problem. But a problem, nonetheless.

  • Almost Perfect…but

So much to love about this app but there are a few subtle changes that need to be made:

-NBA & NFL: Player card/info screens should include “bio” all on one screen. No more scrolling across to find it. Include all career stats—not just recent years.

-MLB: The player stats on the player card screens are awful (when you click on a player for more info/states). They’re out of order to the point where it’s not even worth clicking on individual players. Example: Click on Mike Trout and his career stat Home runs and RBI aren’t even close to each other. The pitching stats are even more convoluted. It’s as if they’ve never looked at the back of a baseball card before. Please fix this. I’ve left so many reviews imploring this change to no avail.

  • Score widget is a major problem

While the layout of the app and the frequency of notifications (not too many, not too few) made Yahoo Sports my preferred sports app, the removal of the regular score widget from the today view was too much of a problem. The replacement widget shows limited information and only periodically updates, rendering it effectively unusable. If the original widget was returned, I wouldn't have a major problem with the app. But the issue is at the core of why users download sports apps, and therefore the app no longer justifies a download.

UPDATE: The development team appears to have made some small changes to the widget but have not addressed the problem. Until the original widget returns, this app doesn't have much use for most users. The CBS Sports app comes the closest to the experience the Yahoo Sports app previously provided both in terms of widget and overall UI. For those who no longer find Yahoo Sports useful given the aforementioned issues, that's my recommendation.
