  • Great App

I love this app when you’re able to watch the game that you wanted to watch , I don’t understand why you can’t watch local game out of state when there broadcast on Fox network I would love the ability to watch local games when your out of state because it shouldn’t matter whenever you are you should be able to watch that game . Don’t understand why you can’t use WiFi and can have to use cellular services to watch the game kinda of stupid when people can’t afford to waste there phone data .

  • Absolutely political way too woke

This isn’t a sports app. It’s an extreme leftist leaning political app that uses the disguise as sports. Proof is they turned off their comments on articles because too many people wee calling them out on their nonsense. Sports score updates as well as in time game stats are very late as well. I think they wait for other sports companies to post their in game stats and then use them. Don’t waste your time. I’ve had this app for years and it keeps getting worse. I’m deleting it. Also, look at then negative comments on here. The developer response responds when people complain about content. All of the comments about them being too political are ignored. If that’s not proof about their liberal agenda, I don’t know what is
    Update:
I tried giving them another chance, but they’ve gotten worse. Their articles are so grossly politically slanted. Just stick to sports and leave politics out of it. I’m deleting again

  • 15 year customer about to delete

I’ve used this for about 15 years (when it was Sportacular) to stay up to date, but mostly to make weekly football picks. Absolutely love the app and the news that’s written in it. What I CAN’T STAND IS THE VIDEO AUTOPLAY. If I wanna watch a damned video with the news or analysis - I will. Highlights I can find anywhere - I read the news for the analysis. Key word there. READ.

Regardless of the setting it is put on, videos (or rather the ads that precede them) ALWAYS auto play. Even if I put it on “Only on Wi-Fi” it STILL does it. Even if I’m off wifi. It’s not very promising that a publicly traded company can’t get its major glitches together (this has persisted through multiple updates and complaints to the developers.

With the share of the market Bleacher/Report is ever-increasingly eating up, I imagine you guys at Yahoo! cannot spare the customers (lets face it, Yahoo! became a second rate search engine when Google’s engine was refined in about 2002.

Thanks for the feedback and I'm sorry for the negative experience. Our engineering team is aware of an issue with autoplay. We're working on a way to get it fixed but can't commit to any time frame right now. Thanks for your patience!
  • Yahoo Plus Allows COLLUSION

RESPONSE TO DEVELOPER RESPONSE: I did write to that email address and demonstrated through evidence that there was a very high chance of collusion. Yahoo vetoed the 2nd trade - which was lopsided but not overly so compared to many non-collusive trades - and wouldn’t provide a word of explanation as to why. If it’s not for collusion, then half the trades made would then be subject to veto. The first trade these 2 colluding teams made involved 8 players and the team that got the windfall is now in a virtual tie for 1st. And Yahoo just allows that. It’s a joke. This is a $250 buy in league too, was gonna do $500 or maybe $1000 next yr. Yahoo provides not a word to inform as to any explanation or the criteria used to assess trades. Have been using Yahoo Fantasy Sports for 20+yrs but this is my last.

In a $250 baseball fantasy league and 2 owners - one of whole was in dead last both times - made lopsided trades that favored one. That owner went from 8th to first. The second trade - which was imbalanced but not much more than a typical lopsided trade - was vetoed by Yahoo. Yet they’re not disqualifying both teams even though one team already reaped the benefits of the first trade - an 8 player one - and they’re almost certainly gonna do shenanigans again. Was considering $500 or even $1000 leagues next year but never gonna do Yahoo pro again.

Once a trade is accepted or rejected by our League Office the decision is final and explanations aren't provided. If you believe there's collusion in your league, please contact us through the sports section at help.yahoo.com, DM us @YahooFantasyCC on Twitter or on Reddit at r/YahooFantasy for further investigation.
  • They need to get the playoffs schedules right

My gripe with this app is during the NBA playoffs, the schedule has been (a) slow to update, neglecting to remove series from the schedule if they end before seven games, and (b) incomplete, not showing upcoming series when possible. The NBA's official app, for instance, shows that the Jazz will be playing a TBD opponent at 9 on Tuesday. These are both small things, but they're enough that I'm not going to choose to use this app if I want to look ahead to what games are coming up.

What I do love about this app are the box scores. You get full box scores and it doesn't require awkward scrolling left and right to see players' full lines. If they could get the schedule right, I'd be happy to use this as my one stop shop.

Hello and thanks for your feedback. We will pass along your feedback to our product team. The schedule is updated for the NBA playoffs through June 20th.
  • Please fix the videos Automatically playing!

I loved this app. I’ve used it for many, many years. Still do, but you have to do something about the videos in the articles. The videos at the top of Every. Single. Article. I have auto-play switched off in the app settings, yet every single time I open an article, the video plays! If you pause the video and are scrolling through the article and switch to another app, then return to Yahoo Sports and your article, the video starts playing again! So now I have to scroll to the top and stop the video again. I lose my place on the article and get so annoyed I close the app and read it somewhere else online. Fix this please.

Sorry for the negative experience. Our engineering team is aware of issues with videos still autoplaying with the setting disabled and they're working to get it fixed as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience!
  • Only works occasionally

I used this app throughout the 2020 season and had trouble from the beginning with the video freezing and audio going out. Later on it had trouble loading. I have an iPhone X and always keep it up-to-date and always load app updates right away. Even tried deleting and reinstalling the app to clear things up and it only got worse. The last game of the season I ended up having to listen to the whole game on the radio. I emailed yahoo sports and they answered suggesting that I do the things that I had already done to attempt to correct the problem and had no other solutions.

  • Still buggy

I’ve been using the app for a few years, but there is a bug that goes from a version to a version and doesn’t get fixed.

The app automatically adds Major League Soccer and International Friendlies to my favorite sports. I remove them, but the next time I open the app, the two sports are there. I tried everything: removing all my favorite sports and adding them back, turning the phone on and off, but every time the app adds the two sports. I even tried switching to a different sport app but I’m used to the Yahoo app and it has decent features otherwise so I keep coming back...to the same bug.

Update 2020: In addition to the bugs they wouldn’t fix, the app constantly fails to load data. It became so annoying that I finally decided to get rid of it. I’m using ESPN app now.

  • Political app, not a sports one anymore

Finally had to delete this app a few days ago after receiving several political notifications in a row. Just so happens they were all on one side of the aisle too. What a surprise! The name on the home screen is literally “Sports” but, if you judged off the notifications that day you would’ve never known. Use to love this app because they do stats very well compared to competitors. Just couldn’t take it anymore. These companies might be surprised to know that some (probably most but idk) people downloading a sports app aren’t looking for politics. I mean, if you’re going to do political stuff at least have an option to opt out. That or change the name.

  • Awesome for streaming

I use this app to stream live football (not soccer) games, but if I wanted to watch tons of worthless ads I’d keep watching TV. Please let the “We’ll be right back” screen stay up. I would much rather hear the background music than another dose of advertising that I put up with everywhere else, everyday.

Edit: Of course the one time I actually want to watch the ads (today, the Super Bowl) I get the same crap as always.

And now they remove all ability to comment to prevent logical and reasonable people from reminding these idiots that no lives matter smfh
