  • Ridiculous new user agreement to sell my data

I have been using the Yahoo sports app for years, mostly to check scores, lineups & calendars. Today I was asked to agree to let Verizon/Yahoo sell all my usage data to about a dozen companies. The only way I could opt out was to go to all the companies on the list and tell them individually not to use my data. I couldn’t just opt out of Verizon/Yahoo reselling my data all third parties with one check mark, which is a much more common practice. Obviously, they think people won’t take the time to contact all the companies & just agree.
I deleted the Yahoo App today. ESPN is better. I should have already switched anyway.

  • Out of market games

If you lived in an different state why aren’t we allowed to watch other football games behind just the local games ? I would love to watch other games behind just the local games . every time the games are on sometimes they’re extremely delayed . I wanted to watch the Pacers play tonite since Victor is coming back tonite since he injury our cable provider doesn’t give us the station that show the games on switch is extremely unfortunate I would love for yahoo sports to start showing pacers games through the app has well has the colts games and other games has well behind just two games!

  • Freaking awesomeness!!

Yahoo Sports app is awesome!!! Now with all the games streaming live FOR FREE, it’s definitely going to make other sports live streaming services think twice about having people pay for what Yahoo Sports is doing.

Working overseas puts a limitation on what you can see from back in the states. But with this app, it helps everyone who is doing their part to serve our country (both civilian and military) to feel Ike they have a piece of home with them now that they’re able to see the games live wherever we/they are at. Good job Yahoo!!!

  • Amazing!

This is the only App I found that allows you to watch NFL games for free. Yes, you are limited to a selection of games (5-6 per week)(which in-itself is still amazing granted it’s FREE), and the games are 30-45 seconds behind live, but still, allowing you to watch games for free totally separates this app from competition. As for news and alerts, Yahoo appears to be covering all the new material pretty quickly, so that’s a big plus as well. Overall, the app is a great find; I would highly recommend.

  • Getting worse

First, they can't ever leave it alone. They are always changing stuff to make it worse. Second, they appear at first to have plenty of content, but honestly if it is not a main sport it does not work right. Third, I have to have notifications completely off or I end up getting tons I had unchecked. Last, they claim to give free games, but they are the same you get for free on broadcast television most of the time. Plus if you try to airplay it to your tv so you actually see it they tell you that's not allowed. For what reason!!! Is it free or not?! I will be finding a different sports app in the future.

  • Great App, one lingering bug

The app is great and works very well!

My (iPhone 8) one issue is that when I get a notification that links to a story, I’ll touch the notification which opens the app to the story and things load/display great, then all of a sudden the text of the story disappears. Nothing I do seems to bring it back. I have to try and find the story by navigating to the section of the app that lists it, select it there and then things are fine. Only time it’s an issue is when I touch the notification.

Fixing that bug would be amazing! 🙏

  • Gone from bad to worse!

This app was good. But then it went from bad to worse. I deleted it because I couldn’t stand it anymore. The scores and updates are not in real time. The information so late I have already received it from other apps. The notifications are all messed up. I checked off to be notified about information about my particular team. It worked for awhile although it was not in real time. Now I was getting information for every team in MLB for EVERYTHING! Change of pitchers, change of innings, scores, it was so annoying! So I deleted the app. I will find a new app. I know every app has issues but other apps fix their issues Score just gets worse. So, I’m done!

  • Add a “history” news section and fix sign in

OMG. I can’t take it anymore. I’m posting so maybe this will get heard and fixed. First off almost every time I get a notification of an article and I go to click it, I get either a completely blank screen or the title but no article. I can see the “back” arrow displayed but once I give up waiting for the article to load I CANT FIND IT AGAIN. Give us some sort of news search option or a “history” section so we can see articles that failed to load. Second thing is I just tried commenting on an article for the first time in a long time. It asked me to confirm my mobile device. I did and then it sent me back to a prior article. I got back to the article I wanted to comment on. Had to redo the sign in process and it repeated the same thing that happened the first time. Garbage.

  • Fixing Something That Wasn’t Broken

Yahoo should have just stayed with the old design. The layout is worse than before and there is no longer smooth navigation through the app. If you click on a game and then go back to the list of all of the games for that night, there is an annoying glitch that moves the page so you end up clicking the wrong thing and you have to wait for the ad to pop up to be sure to avoid the mistake again. The ad that pops up at the top of the screen pushes everything down, but it pops up delayed, causing the whole screen to move down. The box scores are lacking some stats, like turnovers in basketball for example while the old version included them. It also doesn’t show if a baseball game went into extra innings before you click on it. It also doesn’t show if it is the top or bottom of the inning. Soccer games are not included with the tv information, which is a bummer. When you click on a team’s schedule, the app doesn’t separate preseason/spring training games from regular season games. There are many little things that add up, making this version a lot worse than before. Looks like I’ll be moving to espn. The app simply isn’t enjoyable to use anymore.

    Developer Response

Thanks for the feedback. We'll continue to refine the design over time.
  • Awesome For Fand

Thanks for developing an outstanding easy to use App. Yahoo Sports makes being a fan at any level easy. I follow multiple teams in all different sports and can get there in seconds. The only improvement that I think could be improved is the rosters. I would
Like to see the roster have an option to sort by position and who is active, on the 40 man roster, or on the disabled list. Thanks again for providing an outstanding sports app second to none.
