Just what I was looking for!
What a great application! I love the property of being able to draw in a character you don't recognize and have it translated -- this is a very useful, but very hard-to-find function on the app store. The translations are good.Brett Wines
Little ol me!
This by far is the best app in the app store. I have yet to find a better Chinese dictionary. And it's free!!!! The only thing they need is a way to do flash cards. Now that would give this app like ten stars.ejero
Excellent App
This is the beat app in the App Store for leaners of Chinese. Not only can you search for characters by just writing them and not having to know the pinyin but this app offers an excellent English to Chinese translator that actually works, it also gives you the pinyin. Better than the paid apps. However, there's a bug which the traditional and simplifed characters are switched but that's not a problem for me because I can tell the difference. I would like to see the apps responsiveness improved and increased the searchabllity of chinese phrases. Overall good app.Show lessBaXiRen
Needs to truncate results
Great app, thanks for making it free! In future updates please truncate to the first 10 or so of the results returned, with option to expand into other results-much like this review viewer. Words like 'school' just has too many results and takes too long to load.Baejoseph

Great application...with a couple of suggestions...
Awesome application for those native english users learning chinese. Thank you for making it free as well! The only two recommendations I would have is a bookmarking feature and decreasing search response time. Has anyone else experienced search times in excess of 20 seconds? Disappointing.
This is a good dictionary for English to Chinese, but you can't search in Han Yu Pin Yin, and you can only search in Chinese if you have changed your iPod Touch/iPhone's language setting to Chinese, and that shouldn't be the case. Also, results don't come up very quickly; it shouldn't take nearly as long as it does to find a simple word like 'football', or when you change it to 'american football'.Show lessashleyyonamine
Awesome app
Very good application, it has greatly aided in my character recognition and learning how to read... BUT, the only quip I have is that the traditional/simplified characters are swapped. More of a pet peeve than an actual problem I guess.. but sooner the update comes, the better! UPDATEEEE::: Awesome update, and great features added =) All of my concerns and more were addressed! A Minor Bug
Not really a bug, but the heading is wrong. When you select a word, the Simplified heading shows the traditional words and vice versa. Hopefully the next update will fix that minor error and also improve on the speed.9000RPM
Extremely useful
Great application! Probably better off for those learning Chinese than English. Traditional and simplified characters seem to be swapped, but it's easy to tell which is which through comparison. The best part for me is searching for word definitions by drawing in the characters, though if you don't use the correct stroke order it may influence the search results.
