My most rewarding app purchase

Five stars. What a great app! Simply create and combine audio loops for whatever background noise you need to help you sleep or focus, whether it’s needed to drown out real sounds around you or fill a too-quiet space with something your brain needs. That functionality combined with the user-sources Market Place for a massive selection of loops is *kissy hand gesture*. Been a user for years and was just recommending it for the umpteenth time to a friend when I realized I’d never come here to review it. To the dev/product team for this app, really, well done and MUCH appreciated.

Please fix recent bug

I’ve used and enjoyed this every fall/winter for years. (I don’t need it in warmer mints when we’re running the our loud A/Cs at night). I have the paid version.

This year when I returned to the app I noticed a bug. After about 6 hours of playing the volume will suddenly increase drastically (waking me up). Once this happens, despite my adjusting the volume back down or pausing/restarting the sound, the problem will repeat every 15 min or so. By bedtime it seems to have reset itself so I can get another 6 hours in without trouble. Unfortunately, I’m usually trying to sleep for 7 hours. So, this has become a big problem.

I’m going to have to find something else to use until I see an update. Disappointing!!

Ad network or analytics is too thirsty

This app does the thing it says it does.

It does a bit more as well. When I picked up my phone after a night of using this app it was HOT. My battery didn’t make it to 100% charge overnight because this app was consuming so much power. I checked battery stats in settings to confirm it.

Checking further, it talks a lot with google’s servers during the night.

I want white noise, not an advertising/tracking collaborator. I guess I’ll keep looking for a less hostile app that does white noise.

Slightly annoyed

I love this app and use it a lot. Not just for listening to when trying to go to sleep, but I use it a lot when I’m reading books or newspaper articles when my partner is watching tv, because I don’t like the distraction. My annoyance is that, when reading newspaper articles, as I scroll down the page, the app cuts out and I have to go back into the app several times to restart it, as I go down the page. I realise that this is because there are videos on the news articles and the app obviously thinks I’m going to watch them, but surely, there should be an option for not cutting out automatically, if you are just reading?

I only bought it so I could concentrate while typing.

During the latest update, it seems as though they changed the White Noise Lite app to no longer allow you to listen to it while outside the app. Multitasking with that app, whether it’s typing, looking up something online, or whatever, is basically no longer possible. It’s only a dollar to purchase, but it still greatly irritates me that they decided to do this.
I bought the full version because of this, and because I find it highly difficult to concentrate on reading or writing while other people are talking nearby, which happens quite a lot.
So take my money, and my 1 star review.

Three beautiful sounds and they were free

Free, I said free. It’s like a miracle in this world where everything cost cost cost - I got beautiful sounds for free

Beware: Battery Killer

I’ve been using this app for over 10 years. Love it. Or at least, I used to. In the past, I would leave it on all night and it would drain about 20-30% of the battery. That includes about 7 different iPhone and 5 different iPads over a decade.

Now, with the new iPad Pro (11 inch), running the latest iOS, the battery drains 100% in about 6 hours. (WiFi and Bluetooth off, all other apps closed, screen off) Then I wake up, bc the sound stops. I battled Apple for a while about this, they finally replaced my iPad, and the same thing happens on the new iPad. For some reason, an iPad Pro (12.9 inch) does not have this problem. Battery drains about 20% in 12 hours, with all the background apps on, WiFi and Bluetooth on.

I’ve read online about other people having this exact same issue, so it must be one of two things: Something inherently wrong with the new ipads (or certain models. Seems the Air has the same issue) Or, something inherently wrong with a recent update of the app.

I tried to contact the developers about this, but got no reply. I simply cannot use this app (I refuse to plug in my iPad at night when it is at 98% battery simply to use a white noise app that can’t last 7 hours.)

I love it for travel

Sleeping in hotels is hard because of the different noises . This app is great. Plug in phone, turn on noise (I like airplane or brown noise), turn on the red or blue digital clock - and voila --- you've got steady noise, a handy night light ( dimmable) and a clock to see if you wake up in the middle of the night. Love it, and so does the wife and daughter. Also - hint for hotel sleeping - use earplugs! Even with this, the occasional door slam or loud kids in the hall used to wake me. No more!!! Zzzzzzz

Sleep Well

Love this app. Use it every night. Waves crashing and rain on the metal roof are my faves. Helpful if you’re travelling to drown out noisy neighbours (well to a point), trucks backing up at 5am, etc. Highly recommend this app!

Best

Use it every night without fail. Love the range and choices you get.
