  • Needs Update

    The sound no longer works.
  • Wonderful!

I've always had this app from my first iPod Touch years ago and downloaded on my newest Apple device. Thank you so much for keeping it updated! As for the app: iKoto is a great introduction to the Koto's soothing, elegant, harp-like melody. I've been to a koto concert (Miyabi with Masayo Ishigure) and the music moves you emotionally. This app captures the beauty of this ancient instrument in the palm of your hand.

  • Updated after 3 years! App from 2008!

I loved this app and always had this "vintage" app on my iPhones since 2008. Thanks for keeping it working!

From 2008: Boy, I wanted to make this App! What a great job: simple; elegant; beautiful; great sound and no 'click' sounds. Great job, guys! Would love ability to port songs, btw ;)
  • Yay iPhone 5 screen support!!!!!!!!

It does make a huge difference :-)
    ( my original review bellow)

I originally bought ikoto HD for my iPad. After I got the iPhone I was sad to see that version would only work on the iPad. Though the iPhone version has less features it still gets the job done and all the stress of the day melts away. I'm not a huge fan of paying twice for an app but this is one that is worth it!!!

  • Very relaxing

Even if you are not a musician, you can play without making a bad face or smashing device on floor. Thank You!
  • Great app!!

This is a great app and it has wonderful sound but it crashes when I open it sometimes.
  • Beautiful

Very nice app, love it. I wish there was an update. Hope to see one soon.
  • Well worth 1.99

I was a bit skeptical when downloading this app mostly because of the really small price. I have to say I was shocked when I opened up this app to find an amazing musical instrument on my phone. I would give this app 5 stars over and over if I could, but if you're a fan of Japanese culture and music this is the app you will want!

  • problem downloading...

    Hi!

There was a problem downloading this and it's not completely functional. Is there a way I can download it again without having to pay again?

    Thanks!
  • Wonderful app!

I actually learned to play the koto in graduate school, though not as well as I'd have liked. The pitch bend always made me nervous because if you're not careful, you can make the tuning pieces fall over with a nerve-wracking clatter. No fear of that here!

The only suggestion I'd make concerns pitch bend. The default is one full tone up whereas sometimes it should be a semitone, depending on the tuning.
