  • A sweet, performance useable synthesizer

I love this app. I'm an elementary music teacher and used it for the intro to a Chinese folk song in concert. The sound is wonderful, the playing interface is absolutely easy to use. I love the variety of the scales and it has made me learn more about various tunings or scales. You can record what you play and play it back easily. All that and it looks beautiful on the iPod Touch screen. I can't think of a single thing to make it better. Maybe develop some other instruments, such hammered dulcimer or something. A gong app would be awesome. Besides all that, the sound is soothing, just perfect for sitting around in the dentist's waiting room! Oh, I know, add a way to add ambient sounds like a fountain, or surf or the rustling leaves..... getting a little New Age-ish here. Look out Kitaro : )

  • Fun and relaxing.

Hi, I've paid for many applications and games but this iKoto really is a fun application. I was reminded that i've always wanted to learn and own one. Use it to relax! Great fun!
  • Asian Beauty

This instrument is truelly a sound of Asian Beauty. I am a music major in College and I have always favored the minor scales and the church modes, as well as the pent scale. I love this sound and now I can play whenever I want... It is a very emotional sound! Great Buy... I'm happy.^_^
  • Realistic koto

So far my most favorite app since this is closest I can get to a real one since they cost a lot and haven't been made in years. I've noticed it's recommended to connect to desktop speakers to get the true sound.
  • Ok but crashes limit enjoyment

Sounds good. It crashes every time I go to settings or change note on 3rd sample song. 1st gen iPod touch. Will update review if they fix the bugs.

Edit: added a star. Seems like the problem with crashes only occurs at low battery. After my battery was charged I didn't have any of the crashes going into the settings, etc.

  • Superb

This app is unbelievable I am a traditional koto player and travel around the world and when we are on the bus or in the hotel I can use ikoto to run through ideas the sound quality is excellent it has great latency much better than some apps on the iPhone and for 2 dollars this app is a steal.
  • Excellent app

Easy to use and quite responsive. Sound quality is better than expected for the app's size when using nice headphones.
  • Fun!

iKoto is a wonderful app. For anybody who enjoys playing music or who just appreciates the sounds of a beautiful instrument, I recommend this app. I'm a 'free app' kind-of-person, but this was worth the money! Relaxing and enjoyable! (And sooo much cheaper than the actual koto lol ;)
  • Excellent!

I just absolutely love everything about this app and I so appreciate that you can save your work and upload it onto your computer. Great quality in both sound and interface! Keep up the good work .... I'm really loving all your music apps and I look forward to more.
  • Relaxing Traditional Japanese Jam

This sounds great and is really easy to play. The touch controls are very responsive and the pitch bend means that this sounds pretty authentic. There are a lot of preset tone scales that you can use and an option that shows the key of each string. The recording feature is also pretty neat. You can play along with your recording. iKoto is really outstanding and is relaxing and very fun to play.
