Unstable, unreliable and SLOPPY DUMB!

-- I spelled it out here and the dumb developer requests an email now to explain the problem further robbing my valuable time. That's how stupid INCOMPETENT iHeart is. STOP USING ELLIPSES MORONS! RESIZE THE TEXT DOPES. Maybe look up what ellipses are DUMMIES...

STOP using ellipses! As with Apple it is IDIOTIC! In many cases, on most podcasts for example, the full title is NOT available anywhere on the app! That's absurd INCOMPETENCE! Show the FULL title stupid slobs! Make the font smaller as needed. This is digital not an analog typset press fot ---- sake, so there's no excuse for such idiocy. This app used to work fine but now is so overloaded it's SLOW, CRASHES, ALWAYS MALFUNCTIONS when iPhone is connected to AUX IN, and seems to need full signal just to work, while TV cable apps with full streaming HD video work more robustly! It also loses recently played list inexplicably. And the buttons are often way delayed in reaction or don't work at all! You have got to be kidding! The utility of design in regard to being able to simply skip around saved stations is not available on lock screen but is random stations. And why no option for last played?! As in jump to previous (nothing to do with startup) Now why is that?!

If it wasn’t for ads..

Overall I think the app runs well and has most of the stations I listen to on it which is great. What I don’t like is the constant and repetitive ads that are always playing over important traffic , news or weather segments. I find they also play after the stream gets interrupted such as when mobile data drops out and has to restart the stream. When you combine this with the ads that are already on the stations it’s hardly worth listening.

Unable to listen to live sports broadcasts in New Zealand

Update - was contacted within a couple of days and the issue was sorted. Awesome service!
*When listening to live sports broadcasts from New Zealand, I get a message saying that they can only be heard in New Zealand. I am in New Zealand, have checked location settings etc to no avail. Hopeless*

Glitchy playback

I have listened to IHeart for a couple of years now, but in the last few months, all the stations I listen to there is a skip in EVERY SONG.
It skips ahead about a quarter of a second in every song sometimes multiple times per song.
Can someone please advise why this is happening and fix it please, as it is very annoying.
This is really making me question if I should stay with IHeart or not.
I await a response with baited breath..

Constant Pop Up Advertisements!

When listening to my favorite live radio stations (that already has their own commercials) on this app, very recently with the latest app update, every 15-20 seconds there is a pop up ad, some are just an ad, while others are full video advertisements that pauses the live radio broadcast which is so annoying!! And it just does not stop, the ads just keep on coming no matter how many times you X them out. When listening to iHeart Radio through Apple CarPlay, the ads just keep shutting off the live broadcast, not safe while driving that’s for sure!

The crazy thing is that free local radio stations already have commercials we have to deal with which I don’t mind them so much, but now it seems that iHeart Radio wants to take it a step further and give you even more ads for your enjoyment! With all my years using the iHeart Radio app, I’ve never had this many ads and bugs all in just one app, this is insane! And to top that off, you have to pay a monthly subscription to get rid of the ads in the app, I get it, it’s probably an inflation sort of thing, but this is really annoying having to X out of video ads that stop the radio broadcast ever few seconds, at that point, it’s almost unlistenable! Please iHeart radio fix it to where the ads are not as annoying and that don’t disrupt the users listening experience! Thank you!

Recent connectivity issues

I have tested this across multiple devices, networks and connections but I still get connectivity issues. I am quite disappointed in the performance of this app the past 2-3 months. I have used it for years but lately it is constantly cutting out and repeating itself when listening with the app. It has been fine up until late 2023 so I think you guys have a problem you need to look into because I’m about to delete this app because of all the issues I’m experiencing.

App not opening

The app opens when downloaded.
After I close it it won’t open again.
Have to delete it and reinstall it every time.
It’s been doing this since I have an I phone 15

Terrible

There was a point where I loved this app. First I was able to listen to it free. When I got the money to upgrade, I did. It was awesome. The old service allowed you to choose songs. Then they made multiple choices for payment and started charging more. So it was usable to begin with. Now that you can choose tho, they make it impossible to land on specific artists you actually want to listen to unless you pay for the upgraded service. So, unless you pay for the more expensive plan, don’t plan on landing on any songs. Even if you “like” accordingly. Here I am right now over 100 skips into trying to find one song to like by a specific artist. If you choose a specific artist, you would expect it to actually land on said artist more times than anyone else. It literally should be built into the algorithm to land on that artist or songs including said artist. Yet here I am 100+ skips into finding Darius Rucker songs, and it hasn’t played anything by him, let alone the fact that only 2 Hootie and the Blowfish songs have popped up. Real awkward that I pay for this, and what I essentially pay for is the ability to sit and waste my time skipping through songs instead of actually enjoying them.

Slow

Long time daily user of IHeart…. Doesn’t appear to be optimized for iOS 17. Takes forever to boot up. Gone to another app for my radio playing.

needs improvement

i’m constantly writing to iheartradio in regards to their streaming adequacy and other issues. it’s frustrating to be met with a bot when i have an issue. mainly, because the bot does nothing but slow down or lengthen the process— it doesn’t even offer solutions, just a contact form. right now, i’m here because there is no ‘report incident’ button for your radio listening experience when there needs to be. so often i run into streaming problems but cannot report it or get help with/for it since there is no support team. if there’s not going to be an immediate support team there could at least be an incident reporting button. that way, an incident response team can figure out (and fix) what’s going on IRT instead of hours later. please, do better.

my main problem with streaming is the buffering or skipping that occurs. i can’t listen to a whole song without it ‘jumping.’ to make matter worse, the station cannot be played kn iHeartRadio sometimes. what is that even about? this does the opposite of creating a seamless listening experience. it makes it annoying and stressful.
