Lots of good things, BUT
Terrific app for tracking expenses
Best expense app ever!
Don’t Buy an App You Can’t Try FIRST
Automatic mileage tracking is not an “optional feature” of this app, it’s a subscription based feature in addition to the app purchase. The wording is shady in the app description and frankly, I’m sorry I paid any money for this app because I won’t be using it.
It is really just too difficult to navigate. It’s a great concept, but not well-executed. Lesson learned. DON’T BUY BEFORE YOU TRY.
Response from developer
Kirsten, I am sorry you think the interface is confusing. Typically when I hear this it is because the user does not understand the app's use of Logs. Logs are simply folders which are used to help organize your expenses. Once a log is created you can then add expenses to that log. Once customers understand this they love the app because of its flexibility and ease of use. Honest! With regards to the black rectangles in the report. I urge you to contact me directly. Please go into the Prefs screen within the app and tap "Email the Author." I believe what you are experiencing is very easily resovled by changing one of the output settings in the app. Now with regards to your comments on mileage tracking I must say I think you are being very disingenuous. The app clearly states that the AutoTrack feature is an optional subscription. In fact Apple is VERY strict with statements made in the app description concerning subscriptions. The app does however have FIVE different ways to track mileage that are included in the app. One of these methods uses GPS the same way AutoTrack does but you simply need to tell the app when you start your drive and when you end. For FULLY automatic mileage tracking an AutoTrack subscription is necessary. Our app actually charges less for this feature than our nearest competitors. Other apps offerring similiar capability all charge. This is a VERY advanced feature and requires precise engineering. You mention that the app is a good concept but not well-executed. The app has been around since 2009, and was introduced just one year after the App Store opened. XpenseTracker continually over the years has been enhanced and refined. It consistently ranks very high in its category. It even in the past has won "App of the Week" by the App Store. I really hope you give it a second chance. I also really do hope you reach out to me so I can help with the issue you are having with printing your receipts.
