  • Relieved

I hadn't realized how badly I missed a desktop style rich text editor on mobile. This was the missing link in my workflow. This app excels by simple virtue of a) getting nothing wrong, and b) including nothing extraneous.
  • First time user

I have all hopeful expectations that this will be an excellent app! I’m going to try to use it today for the very first time and I will write another review once I am done!
  • Excellent piece of software

Have just started using this to type up sewing instructions. Simple to use and print.
  • Documents disappearing disappointingly

A was making a document and I literally SAVED it, and right when I left it, it disappeared in an instant! But anyways, I love the extremely large variety of fonts compared to other apps like Just Write, but it’s a bit difficult to switch between fonts. I personally like Arial more than Helvetica for no reason I RAN OUT OF TIME NOW

  • No search ability

A basic capability that I have seen in all simple text editors/readers I have used on desktop computers is the ability to search for a string of text. How hard can it be when it has been a basic programming exercise in all programming classes for DECADES?! How can you call this a competent app when it can’t even do a text search? It is something that is frequently needed during a review of a long text.

This seems to be a common problem in almost every basic iOS text editor app I have seen. So I have had to resort to using the default free Apple Pages app, which is sufficient for me for now. It almost seems that many other editor app developers decided that not providing the search capability will make their app “better” than Pages, but it just makes them look dumb because search is such a fundamental function of editing programs.

  • Finally an editor app that’s useable

After looking at and trying every word processor app and found most needed a professional to use. Finally I found TextEditor and am able to write stories about my life for my grandchildren.
    Thanks!
  • It does what it says

Downloaded to create text with the character separators to load into iOS shortcuts
  • Great text editor, But no search and replace

Supports plain text and rich text format (RTF); If you want more look for "documents" app by the same company. It has built-in access to iOS file and you can also add direct connections to various storage solutions. My one wish would be the ability to do a search and replace. However, the product is designed to be basic. With RTF you can do some simple Markup. You always have the option of converting back to plain text. I had a great editor, but it stopped working with iOS 13. I'm glad I found this tool.

  • Not perfect but recommended

The text editor is fantastic but there are a few minor glitches that they need to work out. When I go to switch fonts sometimes the menu comes up “blank” and I’m stabbing in the dark. Depending on the phone you’re using dictation works great but for iOS you need to be online for it to work at all. RTF file saving works fine with a little practice and you can even export the file to your computer or email it. One nice feature that I’ve found is that it allows you to import pictures from your phone or from the Internet
