  • Acceptable

Functional, but has an extremely poor interface and uploading files seems like more work than it should be. Good for the price I guess.
  • Doesn't work perfectly out of the box, but...

...a great comic book reader! iComic requires a bit of fiddling to achieve handheld comic reading bliss... Essentially, you need to find or create comic book archives (JPGs zipped or RARed), then load them up on your iPhone/Touch by placing the archives on a web server. Once loaded into your iPhone, the app works very well. I look forward to future enhancements and refinements to the interface (a few corrections to the English and such). Well worth the $1 if you are willing to take a little time to get it to work correctly. Also: I recommend resizing the images in the comic book archives down to a bit smaller sizes to make sure the iPhone/Touch can handle the images well. :)

  • crap

the least they could do is supply a manul in the app. do not waste your money.
  • Can't Add Any Content

The instructions are very flacky and don't match the directories on my iPhone 3GS. I know I'm only out 99. But the app didn't work as advertised. Additionally sample files from the developer's site disappeared when downloaded.
  • Does what I need

Could do with a few improvements, few bugs need to be fixed but does pretty much what I need with minimal clutter. Orientation is a bit buggy at times. Would also be great if it could support a few more formats as well as easier uploads and file organization. However that being said, it is the application that I use the most outside of work.

  • Now it works!

I recently gave this program 1 star because there was file bug that left it completely busted, but now that it's been fixed in the recent version i can give it the five stars it deserves. Balance has been restored.
  • Finally working

Placed files on the recommended site from the FAQ with no luck. Downloaded files from the recommended site but they always times out. When the files supposedly have downloaded, I click on them and see nothing. The latest version of the comic converter recommended doesn't have the "save as" function so you need version 0.9.8.0 which should be stated. The other recommended converter crashes on Vista. I got this to work with the help of another user. Found it easy to use now after wasted hours trying the recommendations on the FAQ. Just skip the FAQ and use Diskaid to drag and drop your zip or cbr files in the created iComic folder inside your iPhones Photos folder. It's that easy. The delay in page flipping is annoying though and hopefully will be sped up in a future update. Give it 4 stars till this problem's addressed. Better than Comiczeal as you don't need wi-fi connections to access anything.

Update: The latest update greatly improved the page flipping and am satified. Keeps improving with updates so give it 5 stars now. :)

  • needs a lot of work

As it is now, it is extremely difficult to add content to it - it should be done the same way some of the other applications do it (like ebook readers). Also, it really must have support for cbr/rar format to make it useful. It has a great potential, but some major work needs to go into this app.
  • Works great

It was a bit of a struggle wading through the FAQ trying to figure how it works, and the FAQ definately needs upgrading as some of the info is apparently incorrect. I also couldn't find the file directories as described. But ultimately I figured it out and it works beautifully. Now I can catch up on my manga between classes and don't have to wait tip I get home. Awesome.

  • Excellent

Don't bother with all the downloading from the internet cr@p. If your on Mac just download Diskaid and drag and drop your zip files. So easy. Perfect resolution. I believe there is also a Windows equivalent of this software.
