  • Absolutely Awesome!!!

This thing could not work any better! It does exactly what it says, perfectly. Definitely worth the price, in fact it's cheap. Thank you, whoever made this.
PS. I like how the name of the app once downloaded is just "PS" instead of "Picture Safe" so it doesn't look suspicious. :)
  • Very Good, but could be better

I really like Picture Safe (V2.0), and is the best app of its type I have come across, however, it could be better. Against: Its nowhere near as quick or as slick as the native iPod photo viewer especially when you have over 20,000 pictures to keep private, its quite slow to start and when trying to stop a slideshow it does not always recoginse the tap of the screen. It also does not start from where you left off if the screensaver comes on, although it does go to the password screen. For: Fortunately everything else is really good, one major thing is after re-sizing pics for the iPod, Picture Safe takes up less room on the iPod than the same pictures do through the native viewer. In fact I no longer need to consider upgrading my 16GB iPod Touch to the 32GB as Picture Safe has freed up over half the space pictures took with the native photo app. The slideshow (apart from above observation) is good and the tilt feature works in photo safe where it does not work in other apps. HTML addition is great and can be organised into folders and each folder can take hundreds of pics if need be. Picture Safe is a good app for what it does and I now would not be without it, if the speed issue and the bugs are sorted, it will be a great app

This is a very good app but I gave you a 3 because the password is to short plz update it so it's longer and can have letters in it.
  • Handy

Great App.. BUT quite annoyed that I brought this before realizing there's a version that now does 'both' video & pictures. I don't want to have to spend money twice, only to discard the picture one for the new version that does both video and pictures, it's very frustrating.

However I guess I'm really in need of a version that does ALL viewable file's, i.e. Pictures, Video, PDF's, Word Documents, email's, SMS texts, Note Pads (to store passwords on etc.), and other.. Then this app will really be a serious tool, especially if encryption is added and I wouldn't mind purchasing again even if it cost much more.

To the Dev; the 'double tap' to bring up the spreadsheet is great for quickly hidding pics/files, HOWEVER if you get side-tracked and put your phone down and then forget, if someone else then taps the screen on your phone ALL is revealed because it doesn't ask for password again when it resumes (fatal!)

  • Great App. Even better after the v2.0 update. I'd rate it 6 out of 5 If I could.

The 2.0 update is totally awesome! The Wi-Fi transfer web interface on the PC/Mac is genius! The best of both worlds: The photo viewer now mimics the default Photo app almost perfectly, without the heavy file size hit that the default Apple app gives you(for some reason). All that is needed, is: 1): The ability to sort your folder order by dragging - similar to Safari bookmarks, Contact favorites, ect. 2): Hi-resolution images should be viewed as such on the device, so when you pinch to zoom in, you see the detail. 3): A better icon! NOTE: When you import images after the 2.0 update via the Camera Roll or Wi-Fi, Picture Safe now preserves the original file size and quality, which can be viewed in full size, via the web interface. Images imported via synced photos in itunes - including any images imported before 2.0, will remain in their iPhone resolution, when viewed via the web interface, or when saved back to your computer.

Edit: It would also be good, if it could be optimized a little bit more, so that the scrolling can be as smooth as in the default Photo app.

  • Great app amazing anti snoop features

The new update has fixed all the problems I had, now I can sent pics from the Internet across wifi to my iPod. The safety features are perfect, if someone approaches you and you don't think you have enough time the put away your 'office pics' (wink wink nudge nudge) they you double tap the scren and it replaces the screen with a picture of your preset choice and what's even better is that if someone thinks that you are hiding dirty pics (which you most likely are) then if they make you open it then you type in your decoy password and it opens up a fake folder with preloaded images and you can add your own to the fake folder!! Amazing app 10/10

  • Getting there

PIN too short - should be alphanumeric or at least longer. If left running should return to password entry on power on.
  • Almost perfect

Finally got v2.0 and thrilled using the new Wi-Fi access and other features. If you need privacy with your pics, just buy it. I think my money is well spent. Now for the programmers at collect3, I want to ponder on some technical issues with a constructive attitude. Happy to see one annoying bug fixed: wide pictures rotate much better now. The update says you can upload full res pictures, which it does alright, but it can't display a large image in its actual resolution; if stretched it gets blurry (I have tried with different resolutions, up to 4200x4200), so no point uploading hi-res images. And unfortunately one major bug still not addressed: when you start a slide-show of many images, after a while the device falls asleep and the screen goes dark (the slide-show continues in the background, which you can't see!). Another problem is, when a folder with many files is accessed for the first time in every session, scrolling down the screen lacks smoothness, as thumbnails need time to load in the memory. This could easily be avoided if the loading was done in the background when the folder is accessed. Another minor thing is that I often find pictures not sliding smoothly. I really hope these points will be considered in the next update. Thank you guys for a great app. Looking forward to using Video Safe.

  • Nice interface but needs to store full resolution photos

The user interface is really well done, with a photo icon for each folder. Improvements would be to store the full resolution photo, and not down sample it to the iPhone screen res. When you zoom in, the picture gets a bit fuzzy. Would also be nice to be able to manually rearrange the folder order, and an option to delete imported photos from the iPhone photo library.
