Version History of Port Defender

1.5

January 6, 2020

It has been literally years since the last update, but today is the day, we’re fixing various issues identified by players, specifically levels not loading. Also enhanced the level selection screen to show the little paging dots. And a new setting has been added to move the user interface away from the edge so it is more playable on devices that don’t have a home button.

--------------------------- 1.1.0 Changes --------------------------- It's been over a year since the 1.0.32 update, but the 1.1.0 update is finally ready for public consumption. The term update really doesn't accurately describe the scope of the changes, but we basically re-wrote everything from the ground up, built new tools and re-did all the artwork in order to make playing the game easier and more entertaining. Major Changes: 1) Complete Engine rewrite to straight C++ 2) New in-game memory management/recycling infrastructure 3) Upgraded to ARC builds to reduce UI memory leaks 4) Music! 5) New Interface paradigms and better touch tracking 6) More settings 7) Binary file formats 8) Minimal iOS support raised to 4.3 9) iPhone 5/iOS 6 Support 10) Retina fonts Other changes: 1) We changed the map guidelines, so larger maps over 16 tiles wide had to be dropped, but we added support for taller maps. 2) Anti-Air tower is now the flak cannon 3) Microwave tower is now the Ray Accelerator 4) Rocket tower is now the Missile launcher 5) GameCenter Support 6) You have the Admin vehicle on field when you start, but you need to unlock its full potential by buying costly upgrades 7) The term for "Score" has been changed to "Valor" 8) Switch from "cash" to a more generic "currency" 9) Fuel is always show on the screen 10) In-game help has been expanded Planned Changes: 1) Creep redesign 2) Bring back updates 3) Taller maps 4) More custom waves --------------------------- 1.1.1 Changes --------------------------- 1) Lite configuration changes --------------------------- 1.1.2 Changes --------------------------- 1) Fixes for Posting Scores/Achievements [Thread failures] 2) Made "Restore" button blue so it stands out [Visibility] 3) Fixed issue with creeps facing the wrong direction when leaving map, [missing logic] 4) Changed help description of "Explosive Bomb" to "Fire Bomb" [Screen issues] Any previous in-app purchases are still there, just restore them from the store menu. Also you activate purchased items from the store menu, so for example when you need the Admin's free will power, tap store from the main menu, then tap free will, then activate. Powers will need to be re-activated when you re-launch the app, they don't stay on. --------------------------- 1.1.3 Changes --------------------------- 1) Fixed some spelling issues 2) Fixed issues with map "Lines" not working 3) Added in a new setting called "Slow Start" and enabled it by default. When enabled it causes the game to delay creep entry by 5 seconds. --------------------------- 1.1.4 Changes --------------------------- 1) New Map "Square" [15x15], the Mayan apocalypse was a bit late 2) New Map "Football" [16x16] 3) New Setting "Continuous Play" 4) New Store Item "Skip 10", and its part of "Package 1" 5) Fixed a path finding bug 6) Currency is converted to valor when it overflows 7) Faster saves --------------------------- 1.1.5 Changes --------------------------- 1) New Settings "Auto Save" & "Admin Zoom" 2) Cloud Sync your Statistics 3) Admin has shadow 4) Updated setting icons with Red/Green status indicators 5) Pause/Finish screen has been upgraded

  • Best Tower Defense game ever

I have been playing port defender for years, and it is still the best tower defense game in the iStore.
  • Purchased Port Defender is so good!

Purchased Port Defender is so good! I really like all the extra available tower upgrades that are available during the game. That and the optionally longer levels really keep the game going longer when you like. Relaxing, challenging, and fun all at the same time. GG!
  • Needs update

Game doesn’t fit the screen on new phones. But still the best tower defense game. Been playing it for years.
