Perfect travel guide to Rome
Just returned from my first short trip to Rome. This app was invaluable - I wasn't familiar with rome's layout before I went - but this app made sure we could walk to most places quite easily. We used it all the time and pinned a few places of note on the map before we set off. Because it's a memory map you don't need internet access when using it too and your gps always tells you where you are and what direction your phone is pointing in! First trip to Rome-this was my tour guide!!!
First of all, this is my first review on any app! This was my first trip to Rome, Italy. I didn't want to pay for a tour guide for any of the sites since I was going alone. I used this app to suggest places (sites, food, etc) and on using the metro-ok now for the 5 Star rating-the Map works amazingly. I didn't pay for an international plan on my cell phone and it still worked-
I put my Full trust in the Map and I was able to just walk around the city away from the norm. I decided to disregard the metro for a day and walk around on my own and use the Map feature.

Perfect app for travel in Rome
Have just returned from a trip to Venice, London Paris and Rome. The suite of Ulmon products were perfect! The ability to have all maps and all points of interest details available offline AND to have the GPS mapping offline on the maps was fantastic. Haven't seen any other apps like it.Kracquer
Necessity
The off-line maps by Ulmon are a necessary tool for travel in unfamiliar places. Working at your leisure with its map and Wikipedia backup you can plan your trip and then prioritize your stops when you are on the ground. I will never travel without it and I have recommended it to many friends.
I have two complaints. There should be a grid that shows what maps are contiguous to the downloaded ones so you know how to get out of a 'black hole' if you go beyond the boundaries of the maps you have already downloaded. Secondly, the app does not allow you to save a planned excursion if you are offline. I mapped a good route and hoped to have it saved so I could have the app time it and give directions once I went on-line, but I lost the route instead.
Even so, the top ten suggestions, the wikipedia links, the ability to spot and mainly the off-line feature are great.Show lessLeftinSC
