  • Still Uselessly Stuck in Portrait

UPDATE 2020-09-25: Still Uselessly Stuck in Portrait
Your insistence on allowing this app to operate only in portrait mode on an iPad is the very definition of an absurdity. iPads are not large iPods, nor are they phone-less iPhones. It is bewildering that any app purporting to show some of the finest pieces of art in the world would not use the full real estate provided by LANDSCAPE.

To further complicate things, it has become impossible to text an auction to anyone that might be interested in it because the app’s being frozen in portrait mode causes half the keyboard to be chopped off the too narrow screen when trying to compose an iMessage. Now, not only can we not properly display auctions and their items on our iPads, we cannot suggest things to would-be buyers. Brilliant!

I thought the world’s greatest auction house had more sense than this.

UPDATE 2020-03-13: Latest App Has Glitches
As usual, this is a great app. But, the latest update has odd glitches.

    (1) If opened in landscape orientation, it nonetheless appears in portrait with the right half of the screen missing.

    (2) If opened in portrait orientation, it will not rotate into landscape orientation.

ORIGINAL REVIEW (2020-06-20]: This app does NOT work in LANDSCAPE.
iPads are not phone-less iPhones, or large iPod Touches. iPad people work in LANDSCAPE. Want a five-star review? Make this app work in LANDSCAPE and you’ll get one. I’ll update this review the moment an updated version of this app works in LANDSCAPE.

  • Constant crashes and error messages

This app is constantly giving me various error message when trying to use it. Frequently item pages don’t load or take 20-30 seconds to load details. The app frequently crashes and closes while using it.

Christie’s is such a huge multi-billion dollar company... you’d think they would have an app that actually works.

  • The worst auction app in the world

The hands down worst app for auctions in the world. Leave bids on the website and they don’t show up on the app and vice versa. Crashes constantly. Needs to login over and over again. Can’t sort the views of items. Throws up error messages left and right. It’s like they don’t want us to bid.
  • Unbelievably user unfriendly and valueless

Don't even try to use this app on an iPad.
You must use the app in portrait mode and even then the screen is corrupted in that only 1/2 of the page shows up width wide.

Search capabilities are dismal; no advanced search features offered.
  • Crash

Just fix the crashes we’re facing, since we’re using the app in this time of year (quarantine)
    It swiches off awfully
  • 2/3 of the screen

I just installed the app on my iPad, and found it only came up vertically on 2/3 of the screen. I did not expect such a disaster from an outfit with the reputation for showing fine art.
  • User unfriendly

Pages send you places where there’s nothing relevant to what you think is going to be on that page. The app is slow. My connection is good. Trying to get an estimate for something and have spent an hour trying to find where it is. It keeps sending me to download the app over and over again
  • Hi

Can some please contact the administrator of this app . I love it but it’s always closing out for me
  • Uploads are awful

Attempted to upload artwork for auction estimate. Worked great. Have now attempted 2nd upload at least 8 times unsuccessfully. Fix it!!! If it works once it should always work. Im not mailing photos to you.
  • Dangerously Fun

This app is apparently secure (it requires its own passcode in addition to a Christie's account) but I have to worry about myself now - it's too easy to participate in online auctions and track lots on which you're bidding.
